Right now we have zero chance of winning a flag without Reid at CHB. We just't don't have the class down back, notwithstanding we lack 1 quality tall forward. Add Frawley and Reid can play key forward. That might not be worth $800k but the difference is what it takes to recruit a quality player.

I'd like to see us make a play for a Frawley. In the end Melbourne can match what anyone bar GWS can offer. It will take a 4 year contract to put us in the frame. That's the FA landscape. You are either in the game or watching and if you ar watching you aren't winning flags.

I'm not sure if Frawley is worth 800k but another way of looking at this is if we don't get him, there is a strong chance that a Victorian rival could snag him. What if he went to a strong team like the Hawks? Or an upcoming threat like Norf or Essendon or even the Tiges?
I'm not saying we should put all our chips on Frawley but we owe it to ourselves to grab him and in turn deny our rivals.

it wasn't just to deny rivals - I raised it as an additional factor. If Frawley wasn't deemed worthy then I wouldn't want him either.

I believe he asked for a big contract but I don't believe he asked for 800k. Prob 600-700k is the real figure would be my guess

Brown is a keeper, but would not be worried about losing Sidebottom one bit. He is the most overrated player in the comp. Rarely has an impact on a game and only seems play well when the team is flying.

If losing him enabled us to get Danger, I would let him go in a heartbeat!
