I could see Brady Grey playing as a small back pocket - shut Chad Wingard out of the game in his first ever run. Then there are the two you mentioned as well as Duman and even Darcy Tucker I think would be a clever deep defender.

We are getting quite a few options coming through, just hope they continue to develop.

Half forward can be death...Brady took HF and kicked it in the nuts.He had the Bulldogs half backs shitting their pants...lets leave him there

Isn't Adams coming back next year too?
Doubt it. Seems to like playing for the Bulldogs and keen to keep playing there.

Only reason I can see him coming back is for his brother.

I also don't think we have any room in our team for Adams. Collins, Logue, A.Pearce and Hamling all look like very talented young KPD options and I doubt we can justify adding Adams into that mix.

If he does come back WC will probably launch the stronger offer and get him instead of us.

I'm not sure I would. Would be happy to swap if that is what the players and clubs wanted.

Betcha Collins will be on significantly less $$$ next year then Adams would demand though.

He was a dead set liability for them on Saturday night.

Yeah he was ordinary. The dollars wouldn't be the issue. I am more looking at a straight swap and everyone is happy scenario. I would not pay big for him, and would not see him as automatic best 22. That would be the issue, but if he wants home, and understands the situation, so be it.

Nah I think your boy has put his hand up as a high pressure small forward now. His kicking has improved but it's a different ball game coming out of defensive 50 (mistakes there are f'in costly).

Ryan is my bet - he's potentially Spurr with a better kick. We'd also need a 7th defender/half back on the bench as well though. With Weller and a JJ equivalent already there, I think Duman/Hughes/Nyhuis are all ok potential options for the moment as they are all hybrid half backs that can match up on taller forwards but can also rebound effectively. Perhaps they'll push Tucker back to half back also but he seems very good as a midfielder that can apply pressure and provide some classy run and kicking (eg inside 50) on the outside.

It will also be interesting to see how quickly Jason Carter can hit the ground running the year after next - he could be our future JJ but with even more upside imo (like having another Hill in the team - one at half back, one inside/outside, one outside).

Don't want JJ unless he pulls the nominated club rort. His fair price is too high for us imo.
Same opinion , just way too high , better spend money resign weller, langdon to longer contract .

I'd prefer Collins.

People on here overrate Collins way too much. Adams would cost probably a second round pick on his own out of contract, Collins is a fringe player who wouldn't get much interest at all on the trade market. Everything Collins does well Adams does better.

Personally though I'd only take Adams as steak knives (ie on the cheap) as part of a JJ deal. I'm quite comfortable with Hamling and A.Pearce as our main two KPDs with Logue as a third tall going forward. I rate Adams quite highly and IMO he's probably the best player of the three (AP with highest potential in time) but I'm not sure he's worth the cost given we look to have 2-3 perfectly capable options.

*I'll just add I'm not necessarily in the JJ at all costs camp

I'd think our first rounder is fair. Hopefully pick 6+.
Yeah I definitely think that's what they'd want. But in a draft with lots of KPF's I'd want to keep our 1st rounder.

Maybe our 2018 1st rounder and hope we move up the ladder so they get around Pick 10-12 for him. I hope we don't have any backroom commitments to him yet. Would really like to see how the year pans out first, see how Weller and Ryan come on.
