I think he'll be better when his confidence grows. I remember an early game where he was a free option and Spurr (who had the ball) looked at him but didn't use him. That would put pressure on his next disposal/s (gee I've got to use this well as my teammates haven't got confidence in me yet) and my recollection is that he did make some disposal errors. In another game Fyfe picked him out with a good kick and he seemed to play a better game as his thinking (may have ) changed to 'I'm a part of the team, they have confidence in me'. If he can be involved in a few good plays and really contribute to a win, that will be the boost he needs to think he belongs.

It's just reinforced behaviour that goes both ways
  • People use him, he burns the ball and loses trust, people stop using him, he overthinks everytime he gets the ball, and burns the ball. Aka - Mayne.
  • People use him, he makes a play and gains trust, people keep using him, he gains experience and becomes a gun. Aka - Blakely.
In the end, with all our young guns - it's just time in the system, building mental resilience and learning to play together.

Knowing where each person will be around you, delivering on each other's promises to go when it's your turn. Knowing that when you get the ball Brad Hill will have 3m on his man and will be running past you, and that Cam Mc is currently doubling back towards goal and is 5 seconds out from leading towards Brad...

I'm not worried about Logue, Darcy, etc - they just need time and another year in the system for things to come naturally rather than stopping to think

Exactly. Indeed during the pre-season e and the club may not have been sure what position he might play or even that he would get much of an opportunity. Learning on the job. Probably going to be quite different this coming pre-season.

He played almost exclusively as a KD last year.

Lloyd labelled him as a KD when we drafted him.

Ross stated in the preseason that he's a KD in the making.

And other than a couple of cameo's in the forward line, that's the role he's played all of this year.

I think everyone is on the same page regarding his role.

Oh right. thanks. What roles did MJ and Hamling play?

Some hard taskmasters here !!!!, please remember he is a FIRST YEAR player, in a position requiring a bit of body size / strength.

Done ok by me, will be better next season and next season etc.
MJ was very much maligned on here when he was younger, Ross turned his career around, some people have short
memories.

He did come 2nd or 3rd in the Doig in 06 from memory.
Yes he did and to top that we won like 10 games in a row on our way to a prelim loss in sydney ..... I'm a huge MJ fan and its fair to say he turned some opinions of him around along the way so let's give young Logue the benefit of a few seasons before we rag on him ......please people.
