Before your team was admitted into the AFL, did you follow WCE and Adelaide, another club or just follow the WAFL and SANFL?

Before Port was given their license I still followed my previous VFL favourite in Carlton with Adelaide being a 2nd favourite. As soon as Port gained their license I stopped following anyone else but Port.

Being pretty young back then i didn't support anyone till Port came in. Proud to say that i never ever supported Adelaide.;)

I'm not going to lie, I was a WCE supporter. I didn't just change to Freo. One day (I was in grade 9 or something), I went to a derby to support the Eagles. However during the game, I just found myself barracking for the Dockers and deep down I wanted them to win.

It's not like I chose to change teams, it's just the way I felt inside. If it sounds like I am a fairweather supporter/ bandwagon jumper, then tough cookies.

Sounds almost spiritual. :)

Old East's supporter who supported the West Coast State team until a real Club from WA was formed as is now playing in the AFL.

I went for the crows, but then I was only about 7-8 years old, and took very little interest in footy, plus my parents were Crows fans so...

In fact I can't recall ever watching a crows game as a crow supporter.

When Port came in, I barracked for both teams for 3 weeks - then when the showdown came along, I had to make a decision - and Port was the one I went with.

Because they won :p
You'd be an Adelaide supporter now if the Crows won.
i was at the match the week before. The one and only time i have been to AAMI stadium( prob football park then). Was in adelaide and wanted to see the ground. Saw ports first win

I supported Carlton because during the period not long before West Coast and in my young eyes they seemed to have a number of WA stars the old man liked as well. Ken Hunter, Peter Bosustow, Wayne Blackwell and others. Once I got the chance to support a team from my own state I jumped straight onto West Coast and certainly never considered being a turncoat and getting off them.

sorta like realising that you're a homosexual.

Before the Power came in, I was a Port Adelaide Magpies, West Coast Eagles and Swan Districts Swans supporter.

Now my support goes like this:

#1- Port Adelaide Power and Port Adelaide Magpies
#2- West Coast Eagles
#3- Swan Districts

I'm with Kenny, I just left the mothers day massacre a Freo fan. But my 2-3 year support for WCE was already well waning.

Always liked Geelong in the AFL before Port came in. Geelong were my second team for a while, then it was Essendon, then it was the Kangaroos. I'm a second-team turncote. :D

Good man. At least you are honest, and dont allow the 'changing teams' to become massive overcompensation and inesecurity in your footy life.... unlike most of the rest of the Dockers who changed teams and refuse to admit it and continuously overcompensate with vitriol and bile.

:thumbsu:

I went for eagles and was sick of the way they went on,trashing players who played one or two bad games, losing etc. so I went down to watch freo and they got flogged by about 80pts.there was about 15000 there and I was amazed that most were still there at the end cheering.they clapped them off for the effort and I just wanted to be part of it.
