we worked so hard for our goals first few quarters and conceded them back so quickly and easily. Didn’t get a chance to build some pressure and get the margin under 3 goals.
Erasmus had some real bad moments conceding goals late

We kept putting serong under pressure and got him caught HTB, apart from the last were he had no time to get rid of it.
Clark is out of form, Freddie needs a spell.
Jackson was solid and good to see Shultz find some form.

Understand the poor first quarters is an issue and everyone saying why are we not switched on...

I think it's become too much focus on it is actually causing an issue on itself. Instead of focusing on each play on its merit the players are thinking we need to win the 1st quarter.

I know it sounds contradictory but sometimes you can try too hard and it has the adverse action

I hope Josh Corbett never plays another game for this club after that performance. He was a momentum killer in the 3rd quarter when we started to get a run on.

  • Missed a sitter in front of goal.
  • Completely misread a straight forward mark that was to his advantage as he ran back to goal. Rather than get up and chase to make up for the error, he decided to stay on the grass and feel sorry for himself because he stuffed up.
  • Turned the ball back over to Sydney infront of our goal because he gave away a high free kick.

There was nothing separating us from them except that weekly 1st quarter burst we give the opposition. Let them get out ahead by 4 or 5 goals, then we decide to switch on but can't peg it back.

If the players can adjust in game and even up the contest, why can't they plan ahead???

It’s the coach. Do you honestly believe he’s getting the best out of this group?
Do you believe his gameplan can win us a premiership?
No, I've said that repeatedly. They've all completely ****ed up this year. I think the players are confused as **** and they arent getting half as much out of this group as what's possible.

The most glaring example is someone like Stanley who hasnt been around enough to be muddled comes on and is a breath of fresh air going straight at the goals. I'm not going to be at panic stations for the medium term because I'm convinced there's enough young talent with some additions to really do some damage. I am fine replacing JL with a Hardwick level coach.

Young turned into a bit of a nothing player. So often he’s left 5-10m behind a forward streaming towards goal. Why our relatively slow defense choose to stand in front of their forward is beyond apprehension. The stand rule means that overlap run and long kicks will happen often. You need to deny space over the top. Our coaches are horrendous.

We look great when we win a clearance, keep the ball away from the opposition and execute our skills with high efficiency.

The problem is that we cant do any of those things very well and are never setup to stop the other team scoring easily on rebound when we inevitably turn it over.

Most of swans score in the first quarter was turnovers.

Clark not having a big impact recently, too. They looked so good last year.

Some of the players have dropped off. Could be niggles or injuries, or maybe fitness. Its a long season if the team isn't playing well togther. Some have to work twice as hard. But I also like to think we have a core of a good group of players here that can play deep into future finals. Maybe even win one. We are short of a really mercurial small forward. I pray Schultz never leaves. Some here may not rate him but he's one of our footballer who always gives 110%. He is the very essence of The Dockers.

I know its hard to remain positive when another season drifts cold into the sunset. I sometimes think I follow Freo just out of habit, the needful habit of imagining romantic possibilities, however dim and unlikely but tonight I realised I do it because I just love the Fremantle Football Club.

I think Erasmus was tired by then.
Thought Freddie was very dangerous.

I liked what he did in the middle of the ground in last quarter taking it on, but that last part where he should of kicked and instead got caught htb.

Think that happened with few of our plays tonight. Instead of that one extra handball should of been a kick

I only got home in time to watch the last qtr, based on what I saw it's hard to fathom that we lost that. We were all over them, looked the much better team.

Slow start cost us another game from the sounds of it.
Once we were too far down then started roll the dice a bit and actually matched them for the rest if the game.

Your last sentence is the biggest concern. We got a bunch of big name ex players in as coaches - Joel Corey, Matthew Boyd. It looks good on paper when they got announced.

But what if these guys aren’t actually any good?

Our players look confused, unorganised. Boyd looks after the backs, they’ve regressed. Corey looks after the mids, they’ve regressed. Our senior coach isn’t up to it. Pretty concerning situation we’re in.

Can't stand toxic positivity but I'm honestly pretty bloody happy with our squad in general.

What we're seeing is a team that has all the right parts in place. Once this second youngest team in the comp gets that last piece - the stamina and physique then we're looking at a powerhouse for seasons to come, mark my words.

Positives were Wagner and Henry, who's value has skyrocketed in just a month - he will be a staple in the outer midfield. In Darcy's absence, Jackson and Tracey have improved a lot. So much to like.

Redemption will be here sooner than it appears!

I'm getting to the point where I am going to be ****ing pissed if we lose Henry. Him, Stanley and Noddy should be a fantastic 3 wing options for the future. Cant keep losing best 22 players (and he's best 22 now) and we are probably going to get ****ed on his ability which is really starting to come through (finally)

Colin young’s mouthpiece (Jon Ralph) said that Henry looked almost certain to go vic early in the year but is now considering an offer from freo. So narrative has changed a little
