Can't stand toxic positivity but I'm honestly pretty bloody happy with our squad in general.

What we're seeing is a team that has all the right parts in place. Once this second youngest team in the comp gets that last piece - the stamina and physique then we're looking at a powerhouse for seasons to come, mark my words.

Positives were Wagner and Henry, who's value has skyrocketed in just a month - he will be a staple in the outer midfield.

Redemption will be here sooner than it appears!
Richmond are playing a 198cm inside mid. Brayshaw and Serong will never have the physique. Doubt we can often, if ever, have the two of them in there at the same time in the future against most Afl midfields.

Young turned into a bit of a nothing player. So often he’s left 5-10m behind a forward streaming towards goal. Why our relatively slow defense choose to stand in front of their forward is beyond apprehension. The stand rule means that overlap run and long kicks will happen often. You need to deny space over the top. Our coaches are horrendous.

We underestimate what impact a fit Chapman has on Youngs game. He is a tidy kick and great mark. Teams can’t sag off him like they do to Hughes which Young and Clark use their weapons.

Hughes is a great depth player for when someone goes down.

I'm getting to the point where I am going to be ******* pissed if we lose Henry. Him, Stanley and Noddy should be a fantastic 3 wing options for the future. Cant keep losing best 22 players (and he's best 22 now) and we are probably going to get ****ed on his ability which is really starting to come through (finally)

Same. We've put such an investment into him now that it would be treacherous for him to leave. That vast, vast, VAST Melbourne fortune will be tempting for him though.. Vast..

We were missing A few key players in Darcy,Cox and Walker. In saying that we were competitive and skill errors cost us the game. Henry is a good player but he is a squib when he hears footsteps. Pearce let us down with horrendous decisions and skill errors and got owned by a geriatric Champion.

I won't be too pissed. Only real attribute is the ability to find the ball now but thats it really. Still a bit slow, not much of a kick, a little soft, not a long kick, not much of a tackler, not much of a marker.

As frustrating as it would be losing ANOTHER player, it's not the end of the world in my opinion.

I'll take a fit and in form Hamling over Pearce any day.

One of the only players we have with flare that really tries to open things up though. Losing him would just be continuing to set the clock back. Another nearly 50 games out the door again

Losing him would be shithouse. Has been good since he came back into the side. Another solid game tonight.

Whos to blame this time? Josh Carr, the contest, neil erasmus or liam henry?

A few more thoughts.
  • Thought Joel Hamling was solid without doing too much. I still see him as more of a Pearce replacement than Cox. Interested to see how a Cox/Hamling backline would work. I don't think they've played in the same backline before.
  • Jackson in the ruck still doesn't work. Never thought I'd be missing Meek so much.
  • What does Corbett actually do? No way he would have gotten a game if there was a single other option.
  • Corey Wagner finally showing why we picked him up. Really liked a lot of his game today.
  • Ethan Stanley looks the goods (albeit limited game time). Can't wait to see him play a full game.

Totally agree, he had 3 or 4 kicks in a row streaming though the middle in the second half and couldnt find one target.
