Frustration and Gaming

The gaming industry is in a very bad state IMO, similar to the film industry

We use to get 10-15 high quality games every year now we lucky to get 1 or 2

I mostly play Dota 2 not out of love but because there is simply nothing else, all my hopes are one POE 2 and hoping this is what Diablo 4 should of been

The COD generation these days is so bad.

The best gaming was COD MW2 on PS3. Online was fun, the campaign incredible.
Don’t even know what they’re up to this year and what’s the story.

It just feels like Gaming has become Netflix where each year, the new season premieres.
Assasins Creed for example. Same old.

Sports games have reached their limit and now it’s pay to play. Used to grind NBA 2k genuinely because that’s all you had to do to get 99. Now that’s gone.

Another thing. Micro transactions have ruined this generation. No point grinding nor challenging themselves if just pay to upgrade a weapon for example

Surely no one finds that shit enjoyable? 10 hours of the same thing over and over and I have +1 to my strength. Woo!

Gotta be a better way to kick off the old endorphin rush.

No arguments from me on lootboxes etc. Abhorrent practice especially in G rated games (sports etc).

It depends
Pure sports fan can’t compete because you can spend 100-200 dollars and be 99 rated for NBA2k for example. I get why EA sports, 2k do it though. Attract all the money to the game. It is a business after all.

For games like Fortnite, COD. It’s almost predatory. It’s easy to grind and upgrade to get weapons. Instead it’s enticing and easier for kids to spend 20 dollars and get upgrades you’d get for 100+ kills for example.

The killer for me with games like NBA 2k is I used to love playing myplayer back when it was all offline. Now it's linked to online and so heavily monetised your player sucks unless you want to pay up.
WWE2k has $100+ of extra character DLC for a game that will be outdated in a year.
It's all about online and getting you to spend extra after buying the game, or buying the season passes in F2P games.

For anyone roughly 30+ it's not how gaming was when we grew up and we're just not the target market for these sort of games anymore.
