that would be nice to know that it wasn't because of Mitchell's cowardly snipe. But body mechanics are mysterious. Fro example I've discovered that my achilles problems are directly related to hidden ankle problems and neck problems related to lower back, so the corky could have caused it but you wouldn't think so unless it was a real "corker".

It is a fairly common wear and tear injury for AFL players, it is typically caused by running or a lot of repetitive movement.

If the two injuries are related then the cork could have impacted his gait recently which put more stress on his lower leg and aggravated something which might not have manifested until after finals or might have settled down after the end of season break if not for the cork. It is typically a longer-term wear and tear injury though, but you are a right, injuries not related can impact other things. Hopefully it is something not too serious for him and he is ready to go for the finals.

Don't worry about Fyfey he'll be right! And as you can see he's already preparing for a possible Hawthorn final.

I am no doctor but I am not sure the injuries are related, shin splint problem is much further down on the leg. I doubt the corky helped though.

But it's the fibula (calf bone) not the tibia (shin bone).

Fibula in isolation for a stress response is extremely rare given the tibia is the main weight bearing bone. I think the more likely scenario is trauma to his leg. Microfracture undiagnosed. Then progressed to a stress response. It will come good quickly.

Quick enough for this year's finals?
