yeah lets cut immigration and be taxed out the ass when the population pyramid inverts. i cant wait to pay 70% income tax so a boomer with 5 investment properties can retain the pension.Too much migration. Only allow 1 in 50 international students to stay. Don't allow unlimited migration from NZ. Cap it at 20k a year if we need to.
Is that the Sagrada Familia? That looks fantastic to be honestThere's seating only on one side because it's styled on how Barcelona, host of the '92 Olympics, did their diving venue.

Former Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has torched her former deputy and successor Steven Miles, as well as the current LNP government, over preparations for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.
Speaking in her strongest terms since election night last year, the agitated former premier said she was shocked, annoyed and “quite sad” that the Games preparations had become a “huge fight over stadiums” and a “political football”.
“I’m absolutely shocked at the state of this. If I was at the IOC [International Olympic Committee] at the moment, I would be saying, ‘What is going on Brisbane?’” she told Nine’s Today show on Thursday morning.
“When I left, we had a plan, we were sticking to the plan and the tenders would have been out now for the Gabba.”
Palaszczuk said planning and construction would already be under way if her plan to rebuild the Gabba remained locked in.
“I’m absolutely shocked at the state of this.
“Everything’s getting unpicked. I often describe it as like, if you’re knitting a sweater and someone pulls a bit of wool, it’s all going to come untangled and everyone is pulling bits of wool out of this sweater.”
Palaszczuk also revealed she had been told the LNP government’s Olympic review committee had already decided to go ahead with a Victoria Park stadium.
“I’ve been told the committee has actually already decided it’s going to be Victoria Park. It’s got no transport, it’s going to cost a lot more, billions and billions and billions of dollars that Queenslanders don’t have at the moment with cost-of-living pressures ...
“And I think there’s going to be a lot of outrage about the last piece of pristine greenness in our city being ripped up for stadiums.”
She said she had held her tongue about the Miles government’s decision to use the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre at Nathan as the main Olympic stadium, which she described as “an absolutely ridiculous idea”.
“There was a plan, we had 80 per cent of our stadiums locked in and, frankly, I’m pretty annoyed about how it’s turned out, it actually makes me quite sad as well,” she said.
“Let me be very clear here, time is running out.
“Under the former plans that we put in place, it would have been completed by 2030. Now we’re going to be pushed right up to the line until 2032.”
I dunno about not needed. The Roar really needs a venue somewhere between the standards of Lang Park and Perry Park. That said, it would be nice if any commitment came with an undertaking from Football Australia/APL to do something about the state of the Roar and their pathetic owners the Bakrie Group.Football Australia asking for a new soccer stadium that is not needed/and wouldn't be used in the Olympics is optimistic to say the least
It is a reasonably good submission in pushing your own sport and not worrying about what happens to other sports & venues.Interesting to see Football Australia be supportive of a Vic Park stadium, specifically the BRISBANE BOLD proposal.

I dunno about not needed
A lot of venues on the Q2032 Government site are now marked "to be determined" as is Lang Park. It's not needed for the Olympics I meant. Soccer will be held at existing Regional venues/Interstate
Lang Park | 52,500 | Olympics: Football/Soccer (Finals), Rugby Sevens | Milton | Existing, renovated |
that 14.2 bill number just conveniently exactly double the entire budget, doesn't sound made up at allPalaszczuk says Brisbane Olympic stadium 'already decided'

I hope she is getting good information on the venue. Not sure about the costs she quoted though.
No way will the LNP go over the total of $7.1 billion venue budget.
I doubt the PPP would be that figure not that it has got to any stage for that type of figure to be announced.
Most likely along the Perth model if the story has legs.
Maybe she misses having her name in the media

The ABC understands the revamped design of the Victoria Park stadium will cost $14.2 billion under a public-private partnership and will include the southern hemisphere’s largest sport Centre of excellence.
The ABC also understands there will be no net loss of green space.
I've been thinking about that figure since I read that article. I cannot comprehend how a Vic Park precinct, even if we followed the Brisbane BOLD proposal, could cost double the confirmed public funding.that 14.2 bill number just conveniently exactly double the entire budget, doesn't sound made up at all
It seems the ABC has now deleted the $14.2B figure from the article lolThe ABC understands the revamped design of the Victoria Park stadium will cost $14.2 billion under a public-private partnership and will include the southern hemisphere’s largest sport Centre of excellence.

I emailed her Where do you get this number from? Have you fact checked it? This number is exactly double the entire Olympics budget and is grossly incorrect, not sure who your sauces are or who told you this wildly inaccurate number but the general public deserve to not have lies and misinformation spewed to them.It seems the ABC has now deleted the $14.2B figure from the article lol
