I don't disagree with your point. Geelong are very susceptible against pace and quick ball movement but since KP is so skinny they are able to set up very easily and stop the run. We need those tall targets down the line to get it out of our back half. On the MCG with so many open spaces they struggle to stop the run

Despite losing, my enjoyment of this game has gone through the roof since I hit the mute button on the TV.

Tackle numbers are not that different (LOL at half time Geelong have almost double their entire total of last week!) but Geelong's technique is far better. They are tackling high but legally so we can't get our arms free. meanwhile we are tackling around the waist and the tackled player just works out who he is going to handball to.

The other thing I noticed is that Geelong are setting up better behind the play so when a hurried kick comes to half way (and most of our kicks ARE hurried) they are best placed to mop up. We can't go wide because there is no width at Geelong. That's why they have such a strong home ground advantage.

Also, a memo for a later discussion ... how can Cloke have played 200+ games for Collingwood and NEVER played at Geelong? They (and Dog knows what other powerhouse teams) simply get to avoid Geelong's home ground advantage year after year while we minnows have to suck it up almost every year. I never knew about this but it shows just another way that the big clubs get advantages.
