we were done when Pears came off. there's only so many injuries we can cover. being dominant in defence & up forward gave us a chance (as shown in the first half), losing the midfield & defence was just too much. better team won on the night.

Tough luck guys, you were always going to be behind the 8 ball without Fletcher and Watson. I was really impressed by how even a contest it was until half time, before the Bombers seemed to tire.
Really impressed by Hurley & Crameri, they seemed to be able to do as they liked.
Reading the various banter threads this past week has been good for a laugh as always, just thankfully we managed to get up for once!
Best of luck for the rest of the season. (unless you play against us come finals time)

bad luck today, I though your team had a red hot go but ran out of steam in the second half. Not sure why Essendon people were booing Judd, as much as I dislike Essendon I always respected the supporting group for having class.

Any way, I recon Hurley is a pretty good player. You guys just need another tall forward to help out and more big bodied class with pace in the guts. Watson, Fletcher and Hocking big outs for you guys but Waite, Jamison, Carrazzo, Russell and Bower (if he's ever fit) are pretty big ones for us too.

Defensive forward is not a good role for Davey. Any way even though you guys got flogged your boys had a fair crack tonight but couldn't sustain it.

In a way, it was disappointing to see your mob (but then again, I loved every minute of it ).

Not sure what happened after half time. You guys seem to be very Jekyll and Hyde this season. You were all over us for the first half and probably deserved to go into the break with a lead after dominating possession and creating well. Heppell is just magnificent - I love watching him play.

I'd be surprised if you didn't make top eight. Still plenty of time and opportunities.

From an opposition supporter who watches Colyer closely - he hardly ever misses a teammate when he gets the ball. Might not get it enough, but he's a very good user of it.

Disagree. He's a very poor decision maker and lacks any kind of football nous. Looks great when on the run and is good overhead for his size but is lost at sea when he dosent have the ball.

Just got home and although the second half was ****ing woeful, I'm actually not that bothered by the result. They are a very good (genuine Top 4) side and on paper tonight, were always going to out-class us. Let's face it, we are fielding some very tired and no doubt bruised young bodies at the moment. After the last three weeks it kinda looked like we only had one more big half of footy left in the tank.

As for the players, Monfries started well but was found out too many times across half back. Ryder MUST now be our #1 ruck, his tap work is too valuable an assett to miss out on at stoppages. Davey is lucky to have a job, not sure what we could get for him though. Prismall wasn't too bad but old habits die hard. Hille is just spent, it's like he has lost all of his footy smarts and supreme mobility.

I could go on but like I said, as a group we just didn't have another big performance left to give.

Well, I'm only commenting on his use of the ball. 80% efficiency tonight, so he's not too shabby once he gets it.
