Meh, you can't throw kids into the AFL and expect them to beat experienced men. And at the pace of modern footy, one cockup gets everyone caught out of position, looking silly.
Our skills crumble under pressure. I'll get upset if that doesn't improve over the season, not in Game 3.

It amazes me how often we have players around the ball and the Swans release to their players who are free because our guys are all where the ball just came from.
This can only happen if players are not sure where to be.
This is not an excuse for how bad we have been but lets not forget this is week three for a new coach and it takes time to work out how he wants the boys to play, but at the same time these are real basics of the game that players at this level should have as a natural fundamental of their game from early juniors.

One of our most pathetic halves of football in a few years.
There is ABSOLUTELY no ****ing work rate at all. It is like they are scared to get the ball because they know they will **** it up, which they would anyway but I would still prefer them to ****ing try.
Nason, Cousins, Cotchin and Martin are the only ones I have seen actually doing anything more than a jog to the ball.
Simmonds is a complete idiot, White is completely useless and I was certainly disappointed with Edwards start, although at least he has shown he has the balls to take the risk.
Our backline has been pathetic and our forward line has been worse.
No point having a good midfield if we have a dud ruckman, no one trying in the forward line and our backline trailing every single swan fan by 10 meters.
I know Hardwick has his 'grand plan' but honestly this is bullshit. If this kind of play has anything to do with his master plan we are going to be calling for his head in 2 years time.
I wrote out all this rant and I have not even been paying attention to the score. Dunolly would beat us right now.

I'm not watching the game so I can't really tell but the "they're only kids" excuse can't save them if no one is making any effort at all (which is what I'm getting from the radio/people here)

That stat surprises me. But in saying that, it seriously did look like our defenders were the ones playing forward for Richmond. Swans defenders were being more pro-active in going to where the drop of the ball was.
The Richmond forwards looked like "Well the ball isn't going to drop on a penny for me, **** it."
If anything, if the Richmond forwards showed a bit of passion you lot wouldn't be stuck on 1 goal for the half.
I'm not trying to sound harsh to be honest, but the Richmond forwards have got to be more accountable and attack the football a bit more.
Also, Martin is going to be a genuine star. He's a gun.

Happy to cut nason slack at this stage. He is usually too stuffed to kick through lack of afl conditioning and in general play will learn to adjust to tempo and take that touch extra time.
