Great stuff North. Will really help the self belief and Scott's talk of us not rebuilding but belonging. Where are the "experts" now who rated Richmond's list better than ours..........idiots.

Exciting times ahead if we play that type of desperate footy. Could have easily been over run but showed some real grit. Hopefully it is a carry on from the end of last season!

R Tarrent one game one win:) good work lads that should boost our membership will Majak Daw get a game do you think?

Doubtful, he's a work in progress, one of those blokes that people will forget about and then get blown away when we finally unleash him match ready.

Well played, folks. Thought we might get thumped there for a while.

Plenty to like about the young Roos, seem to have injected a bit of pace into the list over the summer. :thumbsu:

Can't begrudge you guys a bit of success given the crap you've had to put up with about relocation and the like. And if you can make the top 8 and keep a non-Victorian side out of the finals, the more the better.

Gives us a few things to think about and work on in the leadup to the season proper.

Keep it up, Shinboners. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

congratulations on the win today, well deserved. Geelong were trying their guts out in that last quarter as well, and you stood firm.

Thanks Guys.

That 10 minutes of play in the 3rd quarter where you scored 6 goals was awesome too watchm scared me becuase i thought you would run over the top of us. All credt to our young guys who got us through.

Garlett one of the elite mids of the comp?? Yes, it was a good game.. But you're kidding aren't you?

The good: positivity the entire time. They had a crack, and then so did Geelong. But they kept having a go, and it came off! How many times over the past few years would they have retreated into the defensive shell in the same situation, and end up losing anyway?

Petrie tries all day and wont let that ball out of his forward line.

Campbell and Harding showed great speed.

Anthony is still the same.

Wright is even better than I thought.

Warren looks likely every single time. Even Jones looked better.

Ziebell was fantastic. All the kids were, really.

The bad - Hale needs to step up (yawn.. maybe it's just not his position)

We don't need Pratt wrecking the flow of the game with his class-clown brain fades.

Hansen has a bit to learn still.

Time is on Tarrants' side. (And btw, what was he doing in defence? I thought that was one area we had sorted out!)

Well, that sucked. We had a blackout half-way through the 3rd quarter. Power only just came back on. Relieved to see that we won, despite Geelong kicking 7 unanswered goals!

Awesome stuff.

Thanx for the vote of confidence WC. :thumbsu: The intensity was just what I expected from the lads under a hard nut- no nonsense coach named Brad Scott. To think that many of this forum were drooling over the prospect of getting a media darling named Nathan Buckley..

Solid result and all that we can do is just BELIEVE the team can keep up the same intense team effort.

Here's me celebrating with a Roo.

Anyone not up for some contested proactive direct football?

I mean, I have only been stating it for 5 frickin years.

Congrats to the boys and their very impressive game today. Gutted I couldnt be there and cheer the boys on. A huge applause to Bon today and keeping the boys going through the whole game and holding on in the end. Got nervous towards the end of 3/4 time but its great to see the boys remain composure and hold on. Seems like today will help a lot to boost the membership, cant wait til the actual AFL Premiership season starts.

Our young mid-field of: Ziebell, Anthony, Greenwood, Garlett, Adams and Swallow, rocked today. Excellent pressure in the middle and up forward.

I know I'm the go-to guy on this board for Ed, but no-one else is going to say it by the looks. Lower was very good in the midfield when he saw some game time in the second half. Ran his ass off and did some excellent work, particularly in the packs.

Nope, I was going to get to him TOD. Ed was very influental in and around the contests after half time. Some great 1% efforts.

Scroll back about 10 pages. I said it from the first moment he touched the ball when he came on, he looked very good.

He had a great game. AFL.com.au has gone so far as to even list him in the bests.

Wow!!!!
How awesome was that???
I think we all realise that something major has happened to our club. This is truly outstanding.
The confidence against the best team in the comp. WOW!!!
The reaction to Geelongs amazing onslaught. WOW!!!
This isn't just a preseason game for us.
We stood toe to toe with the best there is and we were triumphant.
Outstanding North Melbourne . :thumbsu:

Ed Lower by the looks of it (I didn't watch it) played pretty well.

9 disposals and 7 tackles in a half.

Like everyone except Pratt and Hale, he played with intensity that we haven't seem from our players in a long time.

I am furious at the moment.
My shitc*nt little Assendon supporting half brother came into my room and asked who was playing, I replied North and Geelong (he used to be a cats supporter due to his father being one).

He took one look at the scores and said, and i quote "Ah looks like Geelong have quite a few out today, you just dont know their team well enough to realise it".

I immediately left my seat clouted him round the back of the head and screamed "OR MAYBE THEYRE JUST F*CKING GETTING OUT PLAYED, EVER THINK OF THAT?"

As to the game, if this is how our gamestyle is going to be I am very excited, none of that crap that laidley had us doing in the final year or so.

You just won a fan mate.:thumbsu:

How good did all the guys contest it. Was great to see. Every time the commentators would say "Greenwood, needs to go here... Oh and he does, wins the ball for North!" Or "Warren, needs to show courage, shows courage!" Fantastic effort to come through for the win.
