Definitely our weakest performance for a long while today, however after being 'up' for so many weeks now and after 2 bruising encounters against Geelong and St.Kilda, it's no surprise really.

It's just great to know that we are a good enough team now that even on our 'off' games, we can still match it with one of our biggest bogey sides on one of our biggest bogey grounds. 9 losses out of our last 11 at AAMI is unbelievable.

Hawks seem to just be cruising at the moment and as I type, Hodge has just skewed one off the side of the boot, out on the full. We should be able to hold them off in the last half, but we will need to lift a little...

Will not lose from here, and if we did - do not deserve to play finals.

Put down your glasses ladies and gents - we are home.

That's some confidence TAITA, not sure what you're basing it on but hope you're right.

I get the feeling that they're busting they're backsides only to find themselves further behind. Hopefully it means they'll lose momentum in Q3.

High ball forward is killing us.
Port will play that card all day as it is all they have - you would assume they will run out of luck bit they making a good go of it so far...

We play so dumb sometimes - refuse to play to te conditions. After our 6th out on the full you would think we would stop trying to pin point 40m passes to guys on that boundary...

Fumbling the ball, hand balling too much, we need to go back to what won us 7 straight, i think some players are playing like we have this won already and we need to change this mindset...

We are that far off our game today I can't believe we are in front, albeit by 6 points. Poor disposals, fumbles, smashed in the clearances, no run -NOTHING

They can't afford to drop this game if they want to stay in contention for top 4 when they have to travel again next week.

Come on boys - LIFT

They just haven't got the options needed to run the game out - Brogan is killing it but can only do it with the CHF as backup for so long, bench options are limited with two injured and Krakouer blowing like he's run 5 furlongs, and on top of that, they've won something like one last quarter in an eon, not to mention played their GF last weekend.

We aren't anywhere near the intensity that we have been, but if we just pace ourselves until the time is right, the game will break open and we will blow them away by 40+.

Renouf, a guy with just 3 goals to his name in AFL before this game, is our leading goal kicker with 2. Just goes to show how unperforming our forward line is at the moment. Buddy was gifted a goal and Roughy, despite kicking straight during the warmup, has sprayed two set shots either side of the goal from the same position. He's become frustrating to watch!

Our backline seems incredibly disorganised. The talls are killing us.

While we might be able to put up with Roughies shanks at goal in the home and away season, it will spell the end of us against good teams where it's imperative to make the most of your chances.

He is an okay shot when playing on and doesn't have the time to think about the pressure. He is a great contested mark, and is taking some great marks inside the forward 50, but as we know, his set shot attempts are horrendous at the moment. I'd like to see us organise for someone to run around behind him every time he takes a mark and has a shot on goal so he can pass it off to someone. Either that, or encourage every single forward to provide multiple leads and strongly encourage Rough to pass it off. We can argue that to regain his confidence he needs to keep taking those shots, but he could cost us a finals win at the moment with his accuracy.

At least Roughy is being sighted today which is good, unlike a handful of our other blokes. The above was simply an observation and a concern i have if we make the final 8.

Thankfully the pies are smashing the heck out of the blues, although this leaves the door open for north/adelaide which I'm not sure I'd want to play in the finals.

here's hoping we see a better second half performance from the hawks

Really. Not playing the unsociable football. Port getting far too loose, need to play tighter, Powerless playing like we should. Almost like have no respect for them. Can't wait for quarter time for Clarcko to have a blast.
Now, half time Clarko needs to do some solid blasting. They are just not on today. The second half, they had better tighten up alright. And stop the OVERHANDBALL CRAP which today is getting them into trouble. Got to win thew centre bounce .Where is Hodgey.
Roughy is always trying sooner or later he'll kick a bag. Never doubt his intention, but the rest need to lift. We should murder this mob if we are thinking about September.
Umpiring is very bad today for both teams . But thats the game now umpires interpretation can lose your team the game, shouldn't be that way though.

I'm not terribly happy about our forward line. Roughie has an instinct to run back and help out defensively and Buddy has been told to run around and play a Richo-like game. It's almost like the midfield coach has a mindset over the forward coach.

When you've got weapons like Buddy and Roughie... not enough structure. Forwards need to lead to open space, but instead they are almost playing like an extra midfielder. So oppositions defence gets to play loose and provide attacks.

I guess that's the way the game is played because of umpiring insanity. Horde the ball. And that's why Powelress are getting open space on the spare wing of the ground. Horks zone is now a lot closer to the contests. We keep getting hurt when the contest is cleared.
