The question that needs to be asked is which one would you prefer in your side. i reckon junior is the better player but both would be in the top 5 players that I have seen over the last 3 decades where I can remember watching footy. Between 2008-2014 if Ablett had won 5 Brownlows I don't think you could honestly argue he wouldn't have deserved them (2008, 2009, 2013, 2014 and easily 2012 if GC had won more games). If he pinched 2010 as well he still wouldn't have been anywhere near the top of the list of least deserving winners.

Ablett's combination of outstanding performance and consistency before his shoulder injury is unmatched in recent times and possibly ever. My respect for him increased massively went he went to the GC, played with no support around a bunch of kids and if anything got better.

Absolute champion.

No. Shows how quickly we forget. Ablett 2007-2013 was one of the most dominant periods of football ever. In his 'down' year of 2010 he kicked 50 goals playing up forward. He's unlucky to only have two Brownlows to his name.

Hope he gets back soon and gets back to even 85 percent capacity. He is one of my favourite players ever and the complete footballer.

Also people say he isn't as flashy or whatever and can't do the freak things like his dad . But gazza can do some pretty freaky things noone else can do too

I'm not as confident. In the game we played against the GC earlier in the year we were literally targeting him as the weak link in the zone because he couldn't tackle. It was sad to see.

If true for GAJ, would be interesting. Apparently he eats a Paleo diet as well... which given that has its basis in evolution, would be an interesting scenario for him to be in.
