Rumour Hawthorn "the family club" lets down families again

Not unreasonable to have been aware of the clash, rescheduled the event and let customers know a week in advance. Offered refunds for those who couldn't make it on the new date then opened up more spots to make up for lost revenue due to refunds.

Surely the players knew in advance this is a morning after the club event and they probably wont be in a good position to attend. How could they not say to the club can you change it to the next day? Seems like they didn't take responsibility. Then again if the club forced them to attend even after they told them not a good time that's on the club

Haven't read the thread, but what have Ginnivan and The Wiz been doing since round 19? A caller on SEN rang in to talk about them and said something like "and since round 19" and then got booted off the air, no doubt said something wild and they used their 7 second delay.

What was it?

Kicked 9 and 15 goals respectively. Caller was admiring their strong finish to the season.

Kids would have loved it (parents less so).

Not only would they have met Ginni & the Wiz but they'd have one hell of a thing to take to show and tell.

"And that's The Wiz's carrot and that Ginni's tomatoes. Oh it was so awesome".
Would have sold a lot more tickets for next year Come on down to get your baptism at the Hawthorn family fun day

To pin this on 'the club' is a bit much. Watson is 19 and I'd be more lenient with him, but Ginnivan is a flog, is in his 4th season (at a second club), and is a bad influence. I'd be looking more at him as an ongoing issue. Collingwood (McCrae) was right, Ginnivan doesn't read the room and thinks he's above that. I wish we didn't draft him. I see this as a bit of a parallel to the situation at Richmond years ago with Dan Connors and Dustin Martin.

tbh Hawthorn should have some understanding neither of them are mature enough and their official appearances need to be managed/limited as much as possible.

Did the Wizard disappear himself, voila!

And Ginnivan, did he gets his weeks mixed up again? Someone needs to get him a calendar.
