Can only be a good thing. Will force Ratts to lift his coaching to the next level if he wants to keep his job. Can't imagine a coach signed on for 4 years will have that same pressure to succeed.

Brown would make a much better senior coach then Ratten anyway, him taking the job over could only be a good thing for the Blues. Well they got what they want, a good, experienced assistant who has detailed knowledge of our gameplan so they can get their grubby hands all over it.

brown needs a change of environment and learn new things for if he returns to Collingwood down the track they need to move to new clubs to gain Experience since all clubs operate differently with different ideas

Good for Ratten to get an experienced assistant and coach is his own right from a successful environment.
Good for Collingwood too. Turnover the assistants to get fresh new ideas in. History says you cant rely on the same successful game plan, it needs to be tweeked regularily to keep ahead of the pack, otherwise sides work you out. Hawthorn being an example.
