Inverleigh should investigate it the rules are quite simple if the player isnt registered with your club he cant play and if does you lose your points. It affects both seniors and reserves and every club has every write to have this investigated, there no excuses for letting this happen.
In saying all this everyone knows its true and did happen but i bet the league will sweep it under the table and if they do they better be carefull because all a club has to do is get the vcfl to look into it and that would look 10 times worse than being honest now, then having the truth coming out during or after finals when its all to late.

Remember the stuff up last year you guys had with Mick Turner Buddah? He played the first few senior games without actually getting a clearance and this was due to a league stuff up/clerical error from the GDFL/Football Geelong and was not Corio's fault. My understanding is the same thing happened here as the new electronic system only goes back 1 year and Bannock were told a clearance was not needed. As a result paper work was submitted to register him. At the end of the day I understand Bannock acted in good faith and submitted the paperwork advised by the GDFL/Football Geelong. Would be hugely suprised if they were punished for a league mistake but who knows.

Re: GDFL 2009 Season

Would be interesting to see the actual registration/clearance form, as I understand, there is a section that must be filled out asking what clubs the player has played for previously, and when he last played for those clubs. If he had filled in that section and stated that he had played elsewhere in the last 24 months, then it is bannocks mistake as all clubs know that a clearance is required in that case. If he did not fill in that section, the player is at fault, either way whoever handles bannocks registrations/clearances is at fault, to say it was submitted and went through is not good enough.

Correct indeed.

But if the player did not put that on the clearance, the fact that the VCFL only had one years worth of records online when two was required makes them partially culpable as well.

Its still the clubs responsibility to ensure the paper work is filled out and submitted correctly, otherwise all clubs could submit paperwork with ommisions and if found out just say ops it was a mistake.

Again pleaser don't disagree with what your saying but its all an online process now no paperwork gets transferred anywhere.

Thats correct but.
He was cleared correctly buy us his name is michael turner not mick so it was nth shores mistake from the previous years as they had him registered as mick turner nothing to do with us our paper work was all correct. We made sure of all this before he played a game for us, it just took alan moore a few weeks to put it in the system.

Re: GDFL 2009 Season

Its over VCFL have cleared the process undertaken. He has been considered a valid player all year

Re: GDFL 2009 Season

Does that mean everything will remain status quo and Bannock will keep all points, etc?
Now that all this is cleared, does anyone want to have a crack at a team of the year and Grand Final teams with winner, i have tried earlier in the year but i am finding it hard without a lot of knowledge, although i have a few names i think should be in the team.

R.Closter (East)
C.Hyland (Thom)
J.Huybens (Inv)
D.Holzfeind (B.P.H)
S.Gallagher (Belm)
Z.Hickleton (Inv)
L.Mahoney (Belm)
S.Lewis (B.P.H)
A.Woods (Bann)
D.Perkins (Bann)
J.Mcloed (Thom)
A.Skrobalak (East)
L.Clifford (Corio)
B.O'Toole (Corio)
A.Burke (Werr)
S.Calbert (Werr)

By form i'd say East V Bell Post, I think Bell Post have the players that will step up in finals and may knock off East.

Skrobolak re-signed to coach East Geelong in 2010.

Good get for the eagles with plenty of clubs all over the state chasing his services.

Bell Post Hill to def Thomson by 37 pts

Bannockburn to def Werribie by 80 pts elimination finals quite often end in a blow out

i get that feeling too, but Werribee's intensity at times last week was fantastic. if they can put it together for 4 quarters they'll beat Banno.

something to keep in mind, Centrals best performance for the year IMO was when they destroyed North Geelong (who were 5-0) at North Geelong. Obviously this is where the game is this weekend.

result certainly not set in stone yet.

Thomson and Banno for me though.

he will not take the job. His brother is playing there at the moment but he is not keen on coaching yet. R the devils in the market 4 a new coach?

We have spoke with ric and his keen to stay on as a player and he said aswell as us that it's time to get fresh ideas in, we must admit ric has been great about everything all he wants is for the club to be successfull and if it meens getting a new coach and maybe a couple of new players to top up our list that's what we will do. We have great depth obviously with our reserves and 3 or 4 under 18s ready to take the step next year.
