Why would you do that? and furthermore wont it automatically go through given the new changes to processing clearance's, namely automatic unless you are contracted or owe the club coin?

No there is still a 6 day period before you are automatically cleared and you can refuse the clearance on players request, contracted or owes coin. I dont know why he signed one but maybe got a little pressure from his mate. All i know he is staying at corio.

Thats right tamer it looks like a big year at the den with more showing up
Top 4 finish for the Lions:D

Keep a lid on it Lioness 69! Is that the Auskick Queen?
But yes we look like being alot more competiive. I would hope to pinch 5th off Inverleigh or maybe even finish top 4 like you said.
East
Thomson
BPH
Corio
All look like being up there, not sure on Bannockburn so apologies to them but it should be a great year in the GDFL, who knows what will happen and what clubs will improve or drop off.

Maybe he said he would stay because he got a little pressure from YOU?
I get it mate you dont have to tell me twice. He come around for a beer and i told him how much value he is to our club and that he would play his 100th for the club this year if he stayed. So he decided he would stay and were glad he has.

Just wondering if anyone knows what U18s actually have a team this year and upcoming practice matches

Corio play yarrivelle this sunday away and werribee next saturday at home, we have been getting 20 - 25 at training everynight and had 30 players all up so far, this is the strongest the under 18s have been in years and with some very tallented kids we believe they will be a top 3 side this year, which should be good considering they havent played finals for a few years now. Werribee will be a good contest to see were we are at, they have played finals consistantly for a few years now and have been abit of a bench mark for all under 18s.

Thats a long way to go for a pracky match against an ordinary side skanky. unless they've improoved out of sight it should be a white wash. i'd be taking the runners too...

I guess you get to see how the boys perform of the field, solid booze cruise! :D:thumbsu:

they've supposedly picked up a few. Don't really care about the result k f, just a good blow out. Our focus is on round 1. as for the bus, it'll be good for the new recruits to suck a few back with the boys on the way home. hopefully has a pisser in it or it could be a very long ride

definately have an 18's side this year. Need to mate if the club is ever going to be successful. But I'm sure you know that goalski.:D

True, I am aware that to be a successful club within any competition your juniors are the driving force behind it. Glad to see you don't underrate my intelligence there Skanky :thumbsu:

Nth Geelong definately didn't win easily!! They won by 4 points with a full strength squad, Nth Shore had 8 senior players missing, plus with the 22 that played, around 6 of them played both ressies and seniors, and nth shore played 2 short in the last quarter. Plus it was Nth Shores first hit out of the year where Nth Geelong had already played one or two games.

Yeah plus the B&F winner Nathan Peoples didn't play, young surkitt also missed. Plus Di santo and Scown played there first match in over 12 months and Hudich his first in 2 years. i think Lynch would of been happy with the effort

Who is playing who this weekend and where? I hear clubs are still struggling to find suitable grounds to play praccy matches on. Does anyone know if this is because of the legion of idiots who run the sport and rec dept at City Hall or because cricket clubs are digging their heels in?

How accurate is the clearance data on the web as from what I can see there doesn't appear to be many changes at clubs except for Werribee picking up a few.

Belmont have been fairly busy also. I know a few are juniors, but none the less, very active. Maybe they received another cash injection? (sorry spider, had to throw that left jab).

Your boys also, Drago, seem hell bent on improving list. The most active of last years top 5 by far.

The year ahead is interesting, but I cannot see much movement in and out of the 5. I think Tommy and Bannock tigers will drop off, but not enough to fall out of 5. BPH can be a force, but need consistency throughout the season. East should be there abouts, and another who need to play consistant footy.

Which leaves me with Corio. The star attraction of last season. A whole new influx of players last year, have had 18mths to gell now, and I think they will play a big part of 09 finals. A fitness coach has them cherry ripe, and last years straight sets exit will have left a bad taste in their mouth.

Inverleigh are the unknown. Seem to have lost, what they have gained. Could sneak a finals spot depending on their draw, along with Belmont who seem to have attracted a lot of quality senior players back.

Werribee, at home will trouble sides. Coach Leach has big ideas, both on and off field, a heavy summer programme should enable the kids to develop along side their stars.

North will be young, fit and well drilled under Frank. Expect them to be with sides for at least 3/4's, with experience telling in the later part of games.

The rest, West, Winch and anakie will make up the bottom 3, with winch to improve on last season.

Any thoughts on my preview?

That's ok. I can always deal with it in good, clean fun:thumbsu:. THe Lions are looking alright at the moment. Very good numbers at training. Went down to training on Monday for the 2nd time this year and all I can say is thank Christ I'm running the bar this year because there are that many new faces that I wouldn't know who was kicking the ball to me if I hadn't retired!! The lads are off on a training camp this weekend and have a praccy match against Reservoir tomorrow. I'd like to say that I miss preseason, but in reality I've missed every one from about 1985:D!
