From up ballarat way and was just wanting some info on this mullane grant. Obviously can play the game but have heard some differing performances off the field. Anyone got any info on what type of bloke he is? have a few mates that will be playing under him thuis year
Haven't had much to do with him as a bloke but can play although will spend all his time parked in the forward 50. Don't know too many blokes in the LPFL who will match up on him.

I note a couple of posters saying keep a close eye on your missus around him. All I have to say to that is (a) he must be a good talker or (b) have some other attraction because he isn't the most attractive bloke

East - Picked up a fair few and lost only a couple
Thomson - lost some quality players threw retirement
Corio - Lost a couple but picked up couple and got some good juniors
Bannoc - Mullan-grant massive lost picked up a couple but to many old players
Inverlie- Keep 95% of players can only improve on last year trotter is a gun
Bph- Moreland & holzfiend there best 2 in finals and there gone bph to fall out of 5
Belomont- should improve on last year may finish above bph
Werribee- you never really know about werribee
Whinch- Picked up a few but wont be enough to challenge top clubs
Anakie- lost lazer lost any hope off finals and maybe a couple more might be goin to corio from anakie
Nth- Picked up no-one lost a few
West- Only chance they have off getting of bottom was getting rid of pricey so they might jump nth and anakie now

Just sticking to wat i posted a while back, the top hill players are a year older aswell. Just my thoughts doesnt mean im correct only time will tell,
any practice matches that people know off cmon up.

Nth geelong hav a pracco cummin up on labour day w.e against stalbans at skilled stadium. will be good to play a gfl club and guranteed a good hitout

Actually i dunno what the hype about him as a players is as well. I know hes kicked some goals in his times but ive played on him a few times and found him to be pretty easy to beat if you play smart. We all know hes pretty 1 dimensional. If you put yourself between him and the ball he cracks it. I mean dont let him have a jump at the ball like at boundary throw ins and ball ups coz he likes to try and jump over the top. Cut him off he gets frustrated them just gives up if its not going his way. Obviously need a quick player on him. He likes to try and take the big showman marks - just cut off his run. Other than a bloke well if the guy gives up that easy on the field then it shows hes in it for himself rather than the team. From the reports on here that i have just read sounds very similar to how he is on the field.

yeh thanks mate. I think bph could definalety win it they will be hurting from last yr and they have the players to do it i would like to see belmont up there as well but i dont see them as top 3 at all yet very good rivarly between them and east:cool:
Bell Post Hill are a big chance this year it is the year of the panther

Hey Guys, Parkside FC from the Western Region FL is looking for a practice match on w/e 14th March or even the week before. Happy to travel if your ground can be used. Please SMS me on 0412 318 777. Cheers

Whers Boof gone? What about Grigc?

Havent herd nothing about grigc and you will all hear soon enough were boofa has gone but he wont be at the hill. Those off you that no him his goin back to a club he used to play at and no doubt played his best footy at, I think its a good move for him.

Heard on the weekend that Grgic has gone back to Bell Park

I assume you are saying he is heading back to the shories which I would find suprising given his penchant to only play with clubs that are finals bound.

Big loss for BPH if true and if you add this to Grgic that would put a massive dent in their chances. Holzfiend and Moreland exacerbate this but not as dramatically as these two who are out and out match winners.

Massive pick up for East. No news when the Skrobalak appeal will be heard, Drago?
I understand that the paperwork has been done but no date yet however I might be wrong.

If I was on the committe from a purely selfish view point I would hope he doesn't get it back as without it he is a lot less attractive target for other clubs as he can't officially coach but that is not how the club works. It wants all its members to succeed and is backing him to the hilt.

I think any bloke with his size and ability would be a target regardless of whether he could coach or not. "Officially" being able to coach wouldn't deter too many sides from picking him up in a non coaching role. Alot of work gets done during the week and there are no rules as to who is or isn't allowed to take training or sit in match committee meetings. As a player he is allowed to address the group at any of the quarter breaks, he just can't be named coach. Don't think I've ever come across a rule with so many obvious loopholes. While I would never condone what he did, I am still bemused at how a players personal life can dictate what he can and can't do in his sporting life.

would surprise me seeing boof go back to north shore considering he would only probably have one year left in him and going back to a club that really doesnt look to have any impact on the shape of the finals at all where at bph he most likely would

Maybe theres a bigger picture at shore not being just a player maybe they have something in the future for him in coaching?

Howdy everyone,

Thought it was bout time I caught up on the goss from the GDFL. Noone expecting improvements from the lower clubs I see...

According to previous posts it will be a Winchelsea v Inverleigh grand final but i am tipping a replay of the 2007 thriller with East v Belmont.

That's a massive call, Punchy. I'm all for being positive about your sides chances, but i would think that any side who is going to win a grand final would need a decent ruckman. I haven't heard or read anything that suggests Belmont have replaced Battersby yet.

Rick Wilde trained on Monday Yabba.....no seriously we have 3 new tall lads that could do the job and maybe throw Tatey in for a quarter or two if fit enough but yes - good call again, a ruckman is very important.
