I must have been at a different Grand Final to you last year, Ammos08. I recall Anderton being a very good player for Thomson. He might not be fashionable, but the half a dozen times I saw him play last year, he was always competetive and gave their gun midfield 1st use of the ball on many occassions. That's all he has to do

they used the strengths of 2 big men in the ruck though, Anderton was a good around the ground ruckman (big long kick, great contested mark) and Babbs, although being fairly slow and not offering a heck of a lot around the ground (no offence intended), he is actually a pretty decent tap ruckman from what i've seen.

Babb didn't play in the finals.
And I think you'll find Vardy was Thomsons match winner in the ruck not Anderton although he was serviceable around the ground considering the warm conditions

You know I heard in a pub that Belmont were renting out there rooms this year to struggling uni students so they can afford past player payments. Also, they won't be playing on Winter Reserve this year, as they are actually selling it to a consortium that is planning a highrise appartment complex to be built there, with the money from the sale to go to past player paymets. Home games will occur on the roof. Also, each netballer is becoming pregnant through IVF in order to sell off the babies on the black market, again to meet past player payments.
