In my humble opinion
The 2015 ladder will look like this
North
Bell Post
Belmont
East
Inverleigh
Bannockburn
Thomson
Werribee
Winchelsea
Anakie
Corio
Geelong West

I believe Inverleigh, who were last years BIG improvers, will sneak in to the 5 after a rd 18 bye v Geelong West who I believe will fold half way through the season, Corio might sneak a win off the back of a marquee players heroics, the old firm up the top probably setting up another GF show down in 15.
Belmont to improve with an influx of new recruits, who knows how they'll end up, I believe Bannockburn will again miss out due to lacking in the midfield, East will come good in the 2nd half of the season as per usual and Thomson will most likely fall short.
Ridiculous assumption of Geelong Wests season, everyone's judging us from the outside looking in, I can assure you right now our recruits are fitting in nicely, our youth has been incredible and mature beyond their years, also there's no shortage of talent, the coaches are doing a great job gelling the players and building a foundation which I believe the previous coach never had.
All in all watch out for west in 2015, we are flying under the radar and will surprise this season despite having the toughest draw and a new bunch of kids on the block

By the sounds of it this is your first year at west. If you knew anything, you would know that the previous coach got that club off the ground and actually made them competitive. He was also one of the reasons you *******s actually had a junior side last year for the first time in how ever many years. Not to mention all the shit he and his family did around the club. Oh and don't forget got the Ceo to the club and pushed for the current president to take that spot. So think what you like idiot.
Good luck for the season anyway hopefully you keep gelling the boys cause they are going to need it.

Don't think anyone is minimising the impact Wash had on West! I've also only heard players at the club wish the blokes/Nick Washo luck at Forrest this year.

Blind Freddie can see how much he helped us become competitive. Why put words in people's mouths?

By the sounds of it, you have some form of grudge towards West.

This will be all sorted in 8 weeks when we see how they are travelling. If I was from West I wouldn't be talking any talk until i'd shown that I can walk the walk. From the outside looking in there has been off-field improvements around the club however for the club to go forward the on-field and off-field improvement has to complement eachother. If they do drop off further on-field what else can they do off-field to get back up?

You seemed so confident they were going to have a really good year until you dropped a couple of excuses right at the end. . . . .

I am extremely confident about our season the way it's travelling, and those aren't excuses but facts, everyone saying Nick Washington was good for us has no idea about football and how football works, we are fixing our culture and we are heading in the right direction with a young bunch ready to play for the club and each other.
Obviously all the blokes that left didn't play for the club but themselves.
Especially the flogs that have left to a rival club, I know we have just about covered all that we have lost and will have no problems being competitive, so just keep your stupid comments to yourself as you are horribly mistaken

How many sides you know win flags playing for their club I would say some but most good sides play for their coach and when clubs are on the look out for a coach what's the first thing a club ask A coach "what players can you bring to our club" because coaches that have players playing for them you will find players will do anything they will take the next step for the coach not the club on game day and that is what nick had with his players and that shows with the amount of players following to his new club. Nick and his family put everything into that club and the players knew that. If you where there on the last game of the year against nth in 2013 and saw how much the players and the club meant to washo you wouldn't be saying the club needs to change its culture. As for one of those flogs that has change clubs to a rival In my time he would do everything and anything for his team mates and I see he has a brother down from qld he will be playing with don't think you can hold that against him.

Do it for west..
Have you played local football before.. it's not afl standard and no committee member is paid.. local clubs rely on people like nick and narelle for there club to function.. If it wasn't for them there would have been no juniors last year at west and we would have folded 3 years ago when no one else would take the coaching job on... is there any reason to jump on here and put him down.. do you expect the players who have left, players that have played there for years, players that have been on the 100 point floogings every week, to just missing finals 2 years ago to come back and play with blokes like yourself.. that's fine if you want to change the culture but why push players away calling us flogs.. West over the years has had open arms for any player.. I can happily say the club has changed and I won't be back until blokes like yourself pull your head in.. it's sad to see the club you have loved for 7 years just turn there back on you and every other player that has left..which has never been the case in previous years!!

Simsy with all due respect I've been around the GDFL for a long time, even longer than you and I know what it's all about, for example the unsung heroes that do thankless jobs week in and out, we have all roles covered for this season, and I'm not bad mouthing Nick and his family I just believe we are past that rebuilding stage and ready to work towards success and have a red hot go this season.
Our coaches and players will reap the rewards of a strong pre season.
I'm not having a go at him rose286, we are better off without blokes that won't play for our new culture and were just there to play for themselves, we have a strong bunch that will stick together and be successful for a long time.

As someone that played over 200 games at west though many a tough year , and many different coaches , and would say reading your comments about Washo are very disrespectful and uneducated as far as local football goes .
What a stupid statement. I haven't played there since 2009 but always keep a close eye on what's going , living out of town now , but when I got the chance to come down and watch in the last few years , the club was on the improve . He had those boys playing with passion and although inconsistent the team was building .
Totally different from the years that's I played under much higher decorated coaches .
So at the end of the day 19win and 34 loss over 3 years makes him the most successful coach since Twanga in 1997 div2
I love our club but it's clear to me The committee stuffed up,thought that they had a high profile coach locked in and it fell through, split your club and are now showing why you didn't make finals with such division , losing players like Denham sims which were the heart and sole of our club .
And then nearly sign Barry otoole as your coach , but Corio is forced to sack houndslow though apparent player support of otoole and then you jump on houndslow mmmm good move west , you had no one to coach your club , and we're even considering poor old Twanga for another stint.
I don't know any of the new committee but your an embarrassment and have a lot to answer for .
But sounds like Washo dug his own grave getting these blokes into position of power

People on here are kidding them selves if they think there moving forward and that they have covered there losses are kidding them selves... Hiring a corios reserves player as your senior assist.... Thats a huge step backwards.
West comitee shot them selves in the foot by sacking washington without a high quality coach lined up. Sure you could of told him they wanted to advertise just to see whats out there, but to sack him and then get what they got, this will set them back a few years thats for sure.
I think the competition in the top 4 will even up though. Belmont, banno, inver to be pushing hard. As for team out at grace mckeller, im sure theyll go fine untill the end of the season and when the big st albans oval takes a toll on there old and weary legs

Corio
March 1 vs. Irrewarra-Beeac @ Irrewarra
March 21 vs. Newcomb @ Shell Oval

I'm tipping that was a mis print and should be 14th??
No they definitely played Sunday. My mate played and said Irrewarra-Beeac won comfortably.

Ok thanks for that, wonder how the Corio numbers were?
corio lost by 2 goals had 43 blokes there 2 games had 9seniors players out work and unavil i was there watching good hit out
beeac had colac gfl players and red west gfl players dont put the devils down to quick

Are Corio available for a practice match on the 14th of match to play north sunshine divison 3 from the western region football league by any chance?? Just looking for a hit out as we had a club pull out

Our opponent we planned to playon 28th March are looking to possibly cancel due to low numbers and advised to see if there is anyone else free. Is your club free for a game this date for a practice game or know anyone free ? We have our ground available. Tarneit Football Club div 3 WRFLenquiries@tarneittitansfc.com.au
