4 Points I believe.
So if the salary cap for GDFL teams is $80000, how much do you guys reckon a player like Jason Toms is getting, have to be $700-800 a game minimum you'd reckon, coming from GFL.

To think a club of GDFL standard would even consider $14k a season on a player out of a $80k salary cap would be ludicrous!
Considering a team like BPH spent $64k two years ago and got themselves a premiership you would think maybe $400-500 max seem more appropriate for a player of that calibre?
Remembering a champion team will always beat a team of champions and BPH and there pay scale is a testament to that!

I was thinking about the fact that players recruited from teams within the same league have an "additional point" allocated as per the AFL Barwon website, hence the reason to recruit players from lower leagues. eg GDFL
Is this correct?

Bacely and Witney have both won b&fs in the last 3 years, there's ya extra point

Well you would fall off your chair if what i heard from a few people in the know about what Anakie are offering a certain player that kicked 6 in the losing side in the GFL grand final.........?

Let the silly season begin, not long until preseason starts.

They have been after Forbes for a few years and it's all been fanciful. I'm assuming that you would be talking about him coaching the Roos whereas Jason Tom is only playing?
That's where a major difference lies in the $$$$$.
I'm led to believe they are leaning towards someone else that played GDFL a couple of years ago that will coach the Roos!

If you had any idea on who the Roos were going to appoint, why not just come out and say it?

Last I heard they were down to 3, being Forbes, a former EDFL player & assistant coach and current players Grace and Parsons who have put up their hand to be co-playing coaches.

Any news on East or Belmont?

Yeah sorry i thought you meant that they have lower points because of the lower league ranking

Also, I heard today from a "Good Source" that Tom's will be on around $900 a game.

Out of curiosity, how old would he be? Is there a backman that plays deep good enough to take him?
Not many genuine full backs apart from Cam Addie from BPH, having said that Jason Tom would have 3-4 inches on him

Ok, so what have you heard, how much??
What's your obsession with knowing how much people are on a game? Do you honestly think the few people who actually know are gonna come on here and tell a nosey stranger? It's none of your business and if your source is so reliable you wouldn't need to ask!

Totally agree with you falsenine, rather then focus on the clubs and players themselves, people get to wound up on how much a player gets paid.

It's the same when people name who is applying for coaching jobs! If they actually knew something (As PeeeWeee suggests with Anakie) then what a total lack of respect from these clubs to delve out such sensitive information to people in general, in relation to the club and its coaching position. This is the reason why I haven't (and won't) name the person who I believe Anakie are leaning towards.

Unless you PeeeWeee, actually do have something to do with Anakie, then that would make it even more disgraceful!

That's you Punchy??

Oh sorry Footyman13, i'm getting confused, at the risk of upsetting falsenine and seniorvjunior i believe the offer is somewhere between $17,999 and $18,001.

I believe it to be a genuine offer and good luck to Anakie, they work hard out there and the President Heath is a top bloke.

You are the one that is claiming you know something. How would you be aware who the club is leaning towards unless you have some ties to the clubs hierarchy yourself. A lot of rumours and speculation floating about this time of year, so much so that I have even heard former SANFL player Jimmy Allan's name thrown about for the vacant Roos job. Now that is comical.

Not sure about you but I enjoy reading the discussions on here, particularly due to the fictional nature of 90% of the stuff. Don't belittle someone for passing on info that they have heard, which is the sole purpose of this discussion.

I'm like you mate. Love this sort of discussion, I just don't think players are worth anywhere near that sort $$$$ in this league.
Im not trying to have a go at you, so if I've belittled you I apologise.

I only know who they are leaning towards as this particular person has asked what my thoughts were if he were to accept.

Thanks Punchy. And as you are now aware, it doesn't take much to upset Falsenine, so don't worry about it, he has no sense of humour that man. Of course everyone's interested in what players are getting (except boring old Falsey).
