You would hope not, a club with obviously very ordinary culture problems can't afford to have it's prime role model, it's coach, getting arrested. And whether it was retaliation, not their fault, in the wrong place at the wrong time etc. etc. and every other excuse they can come up with to justify their stupidity, they obviously have a lot of idiots there that they need to get rid of. They are currently an embarrassment to Geelong Football in general.
Also hearing they tried claiming that they were in fact from Belmont footy club at some stage during the arrest, obviously was cleared up pretty quick once the club was contacted. Not a good look heading into a new season, especially after their past indiscretions.

I wonder what the repercussions will be? If any

Do we know if this was an official club get-together? No doubt the strong community following won't be happy having their name tarnished yet again.
Maybe we didn't give Big Billy enough credit keeping them inline last year :)

The Belmont boys were in their ice baths after the huge win over Laverton (ha ha - note - thats a joke )when the club got a call from Rosebud police saying 4 players and a coach had been charged and I hear pepper spray was used. Poor form from them trying to shift the blame!

Anyway official opening bookies odds below:

GDFL
Bell Post Hill $1.80
North Geelong $4.80
Inverleigh $6
East Geelong $12
Belmont Lions $12
Bannockburn $12
Winchelsea $14
Werribee Centrals $14
Thomson $26
Geelong West $81
Anakie $101
Corio $101

He's good when he's up and going, very good player at junior level a couple of years ago so he's still very young just didnt transition into senior footy like a lot of people. If he can build some fitness, which he probably lacked the last couple of years then he could be very handy through the guts.

16 senior games only at north shore, so that equates to a regular back pocketer in south barwon reserves?
If he is corios best ever player god have mercy on them

Bannockburn recruit Jake Peters was said to have 30+ possessions before rolling his ankle in the last quarter in their practice match against Kilmore whilst Jordyn Burke teamed up well with Mullane-Grant to kick 16 goals between the two.

KROCK FOOTY: AFTER months of speculation about his position, North Geelong premiership coach Darren Ryan has stood down from the role after accepting a 12-month work contract off the coast of Western Australia.
A scaffolder by trade, Ryan will work a 26-day on, nine-day off roster at remote Barrow Island.
It means Daniel Kee will go it alone as senior coach, having been appointed late last year to share the role with Ryan as part of the succession plan at Osborne Park.

I dare say the players that were leaving North Geelong will possibly be coming back now as I have heard their was a few that were not the biggest fans of doggy!!!

The David Bain specialist coaching appears to have paid handsome dividends at the Belmont Lions, they travelled to deliverance country (Colac) today and put on a clinic against a perennial CDFNL finalist Colac Imperials, with Brad Mackenzie showing all his class down back, ably assisted by the pelican 6'7" James Fisher, young midfield guns Adam Beath,Mikali Harrison,Heath Walsh and Mitch Boal (all home grown) took the game by the scruff at stoppages, and using there elite leg speed, fed beautifully by ruckman Brodie Edge, they constantly forced the ball into there attacking 50 and had great targets in Michael Leamer 5 goals and the most agile 6'4" with grunt ive seen in this league in Ben Vardy 3 goals and another junior product Brent Watkins 4 goals.Final scores
Belmont 17.6.108
Colac Imps 6.8.44

Inverleigh lost by around 10 goals to an undermanned Portarlington team today.

I reakon thompson 10 goals against barwon heads isnt too bad. Barwon heads will be top 3 and may suprise and win premiership in bfl.

Did I hit a nerve. All you belmont boys get on here and pump yourselves up and I mention training was very basic and you can't get over it. Now Leo is pumping up the 5 junior players in the team. Come on Leo the rest of the team are recruits.
