GFL was $150,000 last year and I think they are trying to get it down to $140,000.
Yes BFL is $100,000 and GDFL $80,000. It would be interesting to see which GDFL clubs spend the $80,000. My guess both Banno and Inver would spend near $80k. Thomson, Belmont and Corio wouldn't be spending the same amount as last year.

I've heard Anakie and Corio used to spend a bit of money but have had to cut back due to financial pressures and realizing their money was going to waste on average footballers.

there's examples of promotion/relegation all throughout the world it's not a new concept.
club gets promoted, part of it is being financially sound so finding an extra $10k to bring in recruits to compete wont b hard. Torquay n ammos wuld hav enough stashed away for their rainy day.
when u go up a league generally ur sponsorship $ increase, more memebers/spectators/crowd no.s coz uve just won a flag, volunteers at n all time high..
n relegation wuld mean u lose players or they play for less. thats the whole point of not getting relegated! ur paying them to play well and not get relegated. Then if they get relegated they play for less! Points system is there 2 help when players wanna leave.. bt if u wanna play at the highest level n ur club gets relegated, culd get ugly if culture no good n u lose half a list

Take a look at Inverleigh...they were on their knees four years ago but have been genuine flag contenders for the last couple and this is all attributed to being able to bring in quality players while keeping a core group. The only way you can do that is by spending money.

Geez ur posts are hard to read.
Anyway.
I know it's the GDFL or division 3, or whatever blah, blah.
Ammos would have plenty stashed away? Of course.
But no-one goes to watch them, and that will never change.

Granted they have done well to keep group of juniors but to say they are guns is a bit over the top their best are from outside the club Huybens, Hutchinson, Kennedy-Hunt, Best, Diblasio, Rees, all not juniors take them out of the team and they would be bottom 4

You take any clubs best 4 players and they would down the ladder
 
Huge result for anakie yesterday. Losing 4 blokes the week before then going out to beat north really opens things up a fair bit!

nobody was arguing the top 4 champ that was always gonna b concrete.
i did the predictor on sporting pulse n didnt hav thomson 5th then, n still don't hav them 5th now. thomson play banno n inver in the next 2, then a couple easy ones followed by west geelong and north geelong so plenty to happen still.

but well done for picking the ladder as of round 11 champ
 
Tips for this week

West over Belmont by 15
North over Winch by 35, after last week's shock loss i reckon they will be pretty pumped this week.
Bell Post over Corio by 150
Inverleigh over East by 140
Bannockburn over Thompson by 60
Anakie over Werribee by 10 points

Anyone have any thoughts on how the Anakie vs Werribee game should be handled. The situation is that Werribee wanted to have a twilight game so Anakie agreed to help them out as it was a large crowd drawing game. Werribee were 12 points up late in the 3rd and the lights have gone out with Werribee being rewarded the 4 points because the lights out isn't covered in the rule book so it gets referred to the extreme policy rule where if its after half time the team in front gets the win. Anakie had just kicked the last goal or two and as seen the week before completely overran North in the last quarter.

Should Werribee get the win because their in front late in the third quarter?
Should Anakie get the win because Werribee failed to provide adequate facilities when they requested the twilight game.
Should it be a draw and the points be split

anotha example of gdfl inability to make a tough call.
shulda been a draw end of story. next time anyone plays a night game if home team is up at half time just flick the switch n u get 4 points?

what a joke! sooner the league changes administration n walks into the 21st century the better. nevilles time surely up.

Ok thanks mate, just had a google and I see the Thommy 2s are sitting on top, I find it strange he is in the reserves but I am getting old ha ha, just out of interest sake did Jackson ever play in a senior flag for Thomson or is he too young?

I think they are spot on with putting Cam Addie as number 1
But i think Mitch White from Anakie needs more recognition. Only one person had him in there.
Lymer from Bell Post, Mathieson from North and Best from Inva also up there as best defenders
