I second that we have one objective this year
i dont think they need timmy. all year they have been giving as much as they get. the young blokes there can hold there own.
plus i couldnt think of anyone....ANYONE at thomson that has that style king hitting blokes out on the town.
sounds like romour spreading to me.
think you'll find corio players provoked by a few younger newcomb players and there mates who dont play at all and not by thomson players at all.

I hope you are right but your reputation preceeds you as a football club. There is only one way to change that and i hope you do, time will tell but so far this year it seems Corio are on the right track.
Howdy Partners... It's your old friend Lion King dropping in to make sure your all playing nice. What a year! Who would of thought Belmont would be sitting near the bottom of the ladder? My wallet didn't that's for sure!!! I wish it would shut up when we're out on the sqirt... Oh well what comes around goes around. Looks like "Roary" Lions and myself will have to take the sleeping bags down to the Sherwood Forrest Caravan Park for the footy trip this year. No need to book... plenty of vacancies during August!! But then again, I hear Inverleigh are looking to go somewhere the weekend after the last home and away game... On to the reason for my post. I know it goes against all i stand for but good luck to Jockey Menzies on the weekend in his 300th hit out for the Thommy Tigers. I know the bloke "pretty" well and joins a club of guy's who epitimise what local footy's all about... Loyalty

Spider, the GDFL has looked into appointing its own panel of umpires in the past and the GFUL and the VCFL canned the idea. We all know the standard of umpiring has been terrible, it has cost a few sides games this season - none more recent than Geelong West against Belmont when the goal umpire was overruled after the siren when a goal was kicked and awarded a point that even left Haami Williams scratching his head.....even though Belmont won.
What we need is more consistency from umpires. Bell Post Hill filed a report against one a few weeks back because he was abusing the players. Can tell you its a very regular occurance from the men in orange. Thomson and Inverleigh coped shockers as did the Tigers against West on Mothers day.
Someone is going to get hurt, often a smaller player or younger player. Imagine what would happen then. Guys throwing their weight around, intimitating players....great way for people to be turned away from the great game.

Can't do anything but agree with that. The only correction I will make is that the goal umpire called a point and the central umpire tried to overrule the other way. The reason Haami was left scratching his head is that he couldn't believe that he didn't get the free kick for in the back.
On to something a little more positive. I would also like to jump on the wagon of wellwishers and say good luck and congrats to Jock Menzies on reaching his 300. A magnificent effort.

It was definantly a goal to West after the siren sounded!!! I was in perfect view and it went through. Something HAS to be done about the umps, they have been terrible all season.

To go into it a little bit further, even Haami Williams admitted it was a goal. Thats why he was scratching his head.

Hi Guys, After the Thomson and North Geelong game I was talking to Dowie and he thought he had a heavy shadow behind him all Day and it wasn't a sunny day, I think he wear 46 if I was correct, how many kick did he get him.

is it just west who have the umpires against them? what have they done to deserve it, so ive been told the umpiring has been against them almost every game this year execpt for a couple,give them a break ,how can a team on the rise attract good players to come to the club if they carnt win games due to the results of cheating umpires,it is also frustraighting to all players and supporters.GET SOME CONSISTENCY UMPIRES , ITS NOT ALL ABOUT YOU OR THE TEAM YOU ONCE CAME FROM OR FOLLOW!!!!!

On a second point the game between Anakie and East is crucial for both sides final chances. Given that Anakie have knocked East of the last couple of times they have played and it is at Anakie it should be a classic.

I think you must have been the one "drinking booze" and could obviously not see straight or were not there and are commenting on hearsay,there is absoloutly no way any professional club would allow people "drinking booze" in their coaches box,the coaching staff of any side cannot ban their supporters from drinking in close proximity to their box so get you facts straight before dribbling such crap on here!!
i was there alright it was the 1st GDFL game i had watched in years, and its 2 hrs i will never get back!!!!
i watched the most disgraceful effort by a hopeless west wot was the margin 30 goals or something? and i seen your supporters in the box or right next to it on the inside of the fence at west oval, abbusing the umps wot did you think would happen.

Well they musy have all been on the dole with a heap of time on their hands when you were winning. Now the wheels have fallen off and your depth is tested they all remarkably have no time for bigfooty anymore. It's a shame.
