BPH has been anything but impressive so far this year. really disappointing in the two games i've seen them play this year.

They'll win, that's a given. but if they play the same inconsistent quarterly football that they have been then the margin won't be that impressive.

However, I think something may click this weekend and it'll be a bloodbath.

The Hill will be better though with reports they have Chris Moreland back after walking out on Newtown this week. Did anyone hear this though?

Dont know if you would want to play down back for the GD. If he plays you get Houlihan and if he pulls out the next best is Aaron James both multiple century goal kickers.

Aaron james has moved on again this season. But houlihan and featherstone will provide headaches.

any word on GDFL team?

have heard the selectors are really interested in playing the oldest most unfit midfielders in the competition.

thats the usual approach to interleague, not a great representation of the league.

Just had a look at the results... corio seniors kicked 11 behinds 0 goals for the day... also anakie vs thomson reserves... anakie 3.4.22 vs thomson 1.4.10.. gee wat a shoot out

well, well, well. pretty interesting and unexpected start to the year!

Bannockburn and Werribee the two clear standout sides so far.

East Geelong are a mess, playing for themselves and are nowhere near as committed to the team cause as they were last year. The hunger has disappeared from their game. Obviously got a lot of time to get it back but it's a worrying sign none the less.

Great to see significant improvement out of Winchelsea and Anakie:thumbsu:

North Geelong may be a little bit better than I thought, haven taken it up to Werribee and East and convincingly beat Inverleigh out at the railroad (no easy feat).

Bell Post Hill got the easy win against Belmont yesterday and hopefully that can spur them back into gear. No panic stations yet but they've looked pretty flat compared to usual.

Corio and Geelong West both had extremely disappointing results on the weekend. Sure, they aren't having the best of years but they would have expected to get more out of themselves on the weekend.

Absolutely fantastic to see Ricky O'Toole back to his brilliant best for East yesterday in what was otherwise an embarrasing day for the club.

Travis Johns or David Hall should be leading the Whitley medal at this stage.

Anakie V Thomson resereve game was called off just after half time, a thomson player broke his leg and it took over 30 mins for ambulance to get to ground, thats the reason for low score

David Hall??

Yeah every umpire loves a coward.
He can run & kick but I have it on good authority the Centrals boys aren't too happy with him. Pulls out when his number is up & expects to be fed.
At the end of the day he has a vagina. The scardest human being to set foot on a football field.
You'd love him though Smithy. He was the bravest at Bacchus Marsh...including you :thumbsu:

ahhh k makes perfect sense then.. hoping that means the game goes down as a draw and 2 points awarded to each side then

I too heard it on good authority that david hall told big scrobba to go get something to do on wednesday night as he would be taking over as interleague coach because he found it hard to believe that East made the premiership last year and that it amazed him that the hardest thing East did all day was try start fights.....hard as nails East lmao

Said something from a far distance :thumbsu:
Soft as butter and hates any physical contact. Front runner, goes missing when it gets a bit tough. Will be found out soon enough. Don't know what game you watched but there were no fights or attempted fights.
Give that you've joined bigfooty in the last 11 days i'm sure you realise east were in the exact same position last year and went on to not lose a game.
No good being May premiers princess

The ladder as at round 5:
Weribee
Banno
BPH
Inverleigh
Winch
Thomson
Anakie
East
North
Corio
G West
Belmont

Whats everyones thoughts about the ladder as it stands? Do we think Bannockburn are real final contendors and will East make a stand like they did last year? You would expect winch, thompson and anakie to drop off later in the season. Thoughts??

your not serious GFC10?

round 5 ladder isnt worth the pixels its displayed on. at least wait til everyone has played each other at least once before you read anything into ladder position.
if you look at who has played who, the only teams that reflects its ladder position is Werribee, and Belmont.

can anyone please tell me about oscar brumby-rednell from the winchelsea football club? much appreciated!!
Tall lanky solid backman hardly trained only played twos but has potential always made a contest has left the club and playing back at Hamilton Magpies. Kicked 3 goals one game this year so must be playing a bit up forward. Likes walks on long beaches, skinny lattes and is studying to be a Doctor in the hope of specialising in Gynaecology!
Might pay to check the Western Border results out too. Why you so interested for?

He obviously carved your team up on the weekend as well as the other 4 teams before hand, he may lack the hard stuff but he can run like the wind and can break the game open for werribee, which is something many teams are looking for.....
