Supercoach Round 3 SC Talk - Round 3 Trades ,//, AFL Fantasy Round 2 AF Talk - Round 3 AF Trades
This thread isn't about North Melbourne/Tasmania/Perth Kangaroos. The biggest welfare club
$340m in welfare . It’s a fact.This thread isn't about North Melbourne/Tasmania/Perth Kangaroos.
How much did North chip in for their home ground? Our next rort will be to buy your club for half a bottle of Pepsi and shut it down.$340m in welfare . It’s a fact.
Your response is childish deflection bc you don’t have a valid response.
You know this how? I assume you mean in relation to facilities? If so then that's precisely why hundred's of millions was spent on it. If you mean oval dimensions well they've been unchanged since the 1940s and 80 years of VFL/AFL administrations haven't objected. And unlike every other club in the competition we have tipped money in for the redevelopment of our ground. FACT.It wouldnt even be an AFL approved ground if it weren’t for the upgrades over the last 20 years. So yes, the stadium gives you your own home ground and advantage.
And pretty much since the opening of VFL Park Waverley until the first stages of redevelopment we played 7 of 22 games in Geelong. Which has slowly increased but still not 11 games. 50 years of playing less home games than everyone else.more fans at stadium is louder fans, a well known helper in home ground advantage. Do I really need to continue with this silly argument.
Get a map. Pin the locations of all Vic clubs and then ours.Every other club has to share their home ground. You don’t. It’s literally the leagues biggest advantage. The biggest welfare club in addition to being professional rorters of the cap.
So we got there in the end.Tiring it back to your original post, yes if Geelong were shit we wouldn’t be talking about it. But you’re not shit and havnt been since, proving it works, so we are.
I mean, there is also the $340million in taxpayer funds to improve your home ground advantage in that time. But I guess we can just gloss over that. No biggie.
You might laugh and I know this thread is about something else but no the upgrade wasn’t done to help out our on field advantage. Are actually trying to convince us the $340m in upgrades didn’t improve your home ground advantage?![]()

Our home vs away win rate has actually decreased since the last couple of upgrades, which further backs up your point. You might laugh and I know this thread is about something else but no the upgrade wasn’t done to help out our on field advantage.
It’s just an upgraded venue now more opposition fans can get into and as the poster you replied to said, the grandstands have taken away the wind advantage. It’s almost like any other stadium now.
Been our home ground for 80 years.
1944-2007: No one said anything about it as a ground. Geelong was also a shithole no one would want to play for.
2007-25: Our ground is not fit for purpose, and we get an unfair advantage chasing players.
I wonder what changed to cause the mental gymnastics of the average BF nuffie.
So, the fact Geelong fought hard to keep its home ground in Geelong while Melbourne based teams capitulated so easily and moved to Marvel, is another rort?It wouldnt even be an AFL approved ground if it weren’t for the upgrades over the last 20 years. So yes, the stadium gives you your own home ground and advantage.

You haven't maintained the same oval shape, the wing on the Moorabool st side has come in at least once.More seats and better facilities for fans... While maintaining the same oval shape, grass and arguably taking away the grounds biggest advantage... The wind.
Odd stance to be honest.
The surface the game is played on has not changed one bit.
The poster is saying that the $340 million for 8 games a year is a rort. You're trying to convince me seats, concrete and concession stands help the team win more? Blimey.
Take that up with the governments or the owner of the stadiumThe poster is saying that the $340 million for 8 games a year is a rort.
Yes, it's a real community hub isn't it? Except that the community aren't allowed to go on the ground ever.Take that up with the governments or the owner of the stadium
How would you know? Youve Never been thereYes, it's a real community hub isn't it? Except that the community aren't allowed to go on the ground ever.
I have been there ffs. What does it matter that you don't own it? You may as well own it, doesn't make a diff.Shouldn’t you be at school Aristotle?
How would you know? Youve Never been there
Foo fighters concert.
The local league grand final. Geelong Cricket Club. Western United - all use the ground along with GFC.
BTW. Can the public walk onto the MCG oval at their leisure?
You don’t seem to understand the ground isn’t owned by the Cats. Never has been and never will be. But for some reason you find that funny?
That was really sad.View attachment 2248840
Aristotle Pickett: "I remember, I was engaged in rigorous discussion about the Geelong Football Club at the time!"
Only takes a moment to fire off a reply after Richmond kick a goal. You missed a great game while obsessing about the Geelong rort thread Chugga.View attachment 2248840

Don't you have friends or loved ones to share a Richmond game with? Richmond game day thread to post in?Only takes a moment to fire off a reply after Richmond kick a goal. You missed a great game while obsessing about the Geelong rort thread Chugga.
I watched the entire thing. Why were Geelong on your mind though when Richmond were pulling off a great upset win against their biggest rival?Only takes a moment to fire off a reply after Richmond kick a goal. You missed a great game while obsessing about the Geelong rort thread Chugga.
So by extension, being ripped off with take away food prices at the MCG. We can accuse Richmond of rorting the public?I have been there ffs. What does it matter that you don't own it? You may as well own it, doesn't make a diff.
Rort!
Keep on topic please . The topic is Geelong rorting.Keep the insults to the bay my good friend. The arse-tearings you've suffered over there don't need to be dragged over to the main board.
Take away food is a rort by the AFL and MCC but this thread is about Geelong's salary cap rorts, Hocking rorts, goverment charity millions rorts, Cotton On Chris Scott ect.So by extension, being ripped off with take away food prices at the MCG. We can accuse Richmond of rorting the public?
