Nice spinShafted? Or just put into a regular process that any employer would go through that doesn’t involve any breach of employment conditions, break of contract, etc etc - simply a professional in the industry taking a new role and the two parties making an agreement that it was in everyone’s best interest that they parted ways as it would be deemed a conflict of interest if he was to see out the remaining tenure like literally any company that doesn’t operate out of a lemonade stand on a footpath
Grow a spine ffs
Who holds the tiller? Do you get to take turns?
Nice spin
Contract was terminated, get that through your head.Except it’s not spin, is it. It’s the same process that literally hundreds of employees go through every single day when an employee finds a new job. The only person that’s had to spin a regular process of employment turnover and try and tar it with your chip-on-shoulder ‘I can’t sleep at night because there’s a blue and white hooped spider in the corner of the ceiling’ brush is you. And the hilarious part is you actually believe the stuff you say.
How deep is it, a few feet? Is there a deep end or is it pretty level the whole way across?
Of course he resigned. How else did he let Gil know he was returning to Geelong? So if he wasn't sacked what happened? He left with 6 months of his contract left.
Are you saying he resigned?
But that doesn't equate to being sacked. If you had a job and quit to start another job, are you sacked from the first job?Contract was terminated, get that through your head.
Contract was terminated, get that through your head.
No he was told to go that day.So his contract was terminated but he was allowed to stay on until a nominated date. Right.
That sounds like a really definitive firing.
You’ve covered yourself in golden shower-esque glory once more.
Well done. The reputation of the Punt Road Cookery continues to be enhanced.
Is there more than one set of peddles, who gets to choose? I’m dying for some insight here.
Of course he resigned. How else did he let Gil know he was returning to Geelong?
Under his contract he was obliged to provide notice, probably 3 or 6 months. And Gillon agreed to release him immediately, probably on full pay or as we call it, "gardening leave" on full pay. It happens every day in business but you wouldn't know that. Blind Freddy could see Hocking serving out his notice was probably not a good idea, just like someone leaving a company and going to a competitor is excused from serving out their notice.
But to say Hocking was "sacked" is just false.
Footy boss departs AFL, reveals Gill's ONLY overrule
Steve Hocking will depart the AFL and return to former club Geelongwww.afl.com.au
So he retired with 6 months left of his contract then? But that doesn't equate to being sacked. If you had a job and quit to start another job, are you sacked from the first job?
No he was told to go that day.
He gave notice under his contract. By agreement he was released immediately on full pay for the notice period, and he started with Geelong in late 2021So he retired with 6 months left of his contract then?
the fact that all spoonmond people have to try and troll Geelong with in the first week of October is whether Steve Hocking quit or was sacked by the AFL 3 years ago is telling
Did find one nugget of gold from the thread that keeps on giving in the wake of the Panthers NRL triumph last night:
Essentially saying ‘the NRL celebrates its four time premiers by congratulating them rather than trying to bring them down by handicapping them and being in rules to stop them succeeding’
Well aside from losing my shit at how strong the victim mentality is when I read this, it actually jogged my memory because I seemed to recall something.
Lo and behold I went back to the beginning of 2020.
Guess who the reigning two time premiers were in the NRL?
My Roosters.
The first team to go back to back in a unified competition since the Broncos in 92-93. In the wake of their second premiership the NRL introduced the six again rule, whereby instead of teams just giving away a penalty for being inside the 10m, or a ruck infringement, and play being stopped and giving a team time to have a breather and re-setting their defence - penalising teams who liked to play an up-and-in defence who would back themselves to give away a few penalties until the other team made a mistake - they changed the rule to promote a more free flowing, attack based game. The tackle count would simply restart
Now the Roosters have not won a competition since but a) I’m yet to hear a single fan complain about a conspiracy, and b) we responded to this unprecedented turn of events by making five consecutive finals series, as any professional team should when confronted with a change to the rules whilst being the best team in the competition
My lil nugget of gold is the Panthers getting praised as one of the best teams ever specifically referring to the 4 peat.
So glad you brought the NRL up. No Geelong dynasty confirmed.
This threads become very one sided.
Where are all the Richmond supporters?
Dirty mop is left holding the fort all on his own. Poor buggers dieing a slow death like Custer on the hill.
Busy counting our picks. Can’t believe we are about to draft 3-4 kids that will be better than Daicos this year.
