Omg now potting frawley because he wanted to come to hawks to win flags - still not sure what her point is

Edit
She just made her point - all media are to be referred to as Sir or Madam proceeded by their first name (frawley called KB "mate"). I dont even hate caro but this has been a horrendous start to the shows season

Nah he should have stayed at Melbourne playing as a full forward under the tutelage of that great attacking maestro what's his name Roos. They couldn't wait to flick him for pick 2 or 3. Should have gone to Richmond or the Bombers maybe? Would that have satisfied them?

Her point was that he called KB "mate", apparently its unprofessional to not speak to media by their name. She toook a long time to get to it

Much as I like Caro, she knows that KB is just a former footy player and a radio announcer and not some form of dignitary - right?

Edit: I'm pretty sure most jounros call our coach 'Clarko' - if Caro's rules of etiquette apply then shouldn't all in the press call him Alistair or Mr Clarkson? On this front I think she's being a bit over the top.

So apparently Stratton played at Revolver on Sunday night. 8pm-10pm. Kept the club informed about everything. Hutchy brought it up on the footy classified and most of them condemned it mainly because of the venue

Maybe drop in while you're doing your old man power walk first thing in the morning.
I'm asleep at 5am, I'm not old enough to be an early riser yet

It is trash television with the two biggest tabloid "journalists" leading the charge. I usually find Gary Lyon to be quite measured but not on this show.

Wilson and Hutchinson are specialists in rumours and gossip.

If the Hawks slip this year, watch out for Caro's "exclusive" stories about how rotten the Hawks are.

If the Hawks slip and we have players living it up at Revs she may well be right.

I'm interested in why you are never critical of Caroline Wilson. Most of the time I like her, but sometimes she comes up with complete rubbish as well. For instance having a go at AFL players for not addressing media personalities by their name to start off an interview - what the hell was all that about?

Caro says a lot of what the AFL boys club don't want to address. She questions clubs who don't want to be questioned.

I'm particularly pleased that there is someone in the media who will not pander to the whims of AFL house or clubs with agendas.

The AFL are full of shit.
The clubs are full of shit.

If not for people like her we'd just be fed a bunch of bullshit and be forced to swallow it.

As for her making stuff up, well that's not correct. She'd have multiple lawsuits against her if that was the case.

Don't be taken in by the fact that she write for The Age. That means nothing; she is simply a tabloid gossip specialist.

The stuff she wrote about Essendon was just fed to her by the AFL.

I'm waiting for the "exclusive" she pens about Clarko and his failures.

I didn't mean she was making stuff up, I meant what she comes up with at times, like the example of she's offended by players that don't address journalists by their name at the start of interviews. Or for being critical of Frawley who said 100% when asked on SEN if he came to Hawthorn for the opportunity to win premierships.

There is no news in this, and she isn't going to win players and clubs over to open up more with that type of approach.

I do agree that we need more journalists that give us real news and not AFL press statements, but she can spew out rubbish just like the rest of them from time to time.

She wasn't offended. She was annoyed at the sloppiness in the players' professionalism. Fair difference.
She also had no issue with Frawley's answers apart from call KB, "mate" instead of "Kevin".

She raised a fair point. Not everyone is going to agree with it.

Some people (not specifically you) need to find a hobby if this really upsets them that she used a Hawthorn player as evidence.

That's not a bad thing.

You are assuming.

I'm waiting for the "exclusive" she pens about Clarko and his failures.
Again, if the Hawks fall in a heap and players are partying at revs, then it won't hurt to have questions asked.

If we are calling everyone by name - then I want every journalist in this country to start calling our coach Al, or Alastair and not Clarko as almost all refer to him as in press conferences.

The Essendon stuff was not fed to her by the AFL. The AFL wanted it to go away and for it to all be swept under the rug. Caro was one of the few who was willing to actually dig deeper. She only got it wrong once in that saga, and that's when she got bad intel that Hird was to be sacked. She has stated many times that she got that wrong. Everything else she wrote about it was pretty much vindicated by the CAS findings and subsequent repercussions.

I've never been there, but is Revolver really that bad, or is it like any venue when people are over the age of 40 and think any drinking venue that isn't the pub on the corner is automatically a hedonistic drug-fuelled rave? A two hour set on a Saturday, that finished at 10 pm (I mean, really, do we honestly expect all our players to be tucked up in bed with a glass of warm milk at 9 pm on a weekend?) when there likely wasn't any training to be had for 36 hours or so - all done with the club's knowledge and approval. Are we really getting concerned about this?

I'm glad our club let's our players be adult human beings - and I am glad our players go through the right channels internally to let the club know of things that are obviously going to cause a stir in the puritanical press.
