I know what you're trying to get at and I don't want to turn this into "a thing" but that is either a poor example or a poor choice of wording.

There is a big difference between Muslims and Muslim Extremists. And that applies to all religions. Islam, Christianity, etc. While I'm not one of them I'm sure there are some Muslim Hawk supporters on here that would be offended by that comparison.

Tuck played in one of the most powerful football teams we have seen, whereas the midget plays at a club that struggles on & off the field, and with the help of playing 'the sub' he will become the leagues record holder.
Nice effort for the little fella but really cannot be seen in the same way as Tucky & Bartlett....this is only my opinion and no doubt Norf supporters who stumble across this will be internally raging. The bonus for Norf supporters is that their club will build a life size statue of the little shinboner that all their kids can climb over in years to come as some 'hobbit' ride that they can pop their 20c into and the Norf song blasts out.

When it comes to 'Harveys' .....I think Robert Harvey or even Neil Harvey but little Brent Harvey just doesn't cut it for me.

Tuckys record is seven premierships -the little bloke thats going to beat him is called Rioli.

As we've all witnessed, there are many Essendon people who still can't see where James Hird, or their club, have done anything wrong. Their 12 BANNED players have been looked upon in reverence, having parades to cheer them, etc. We heard John Worsfold declare that the club would welcome Hird back to the club with open arms. On their website, I noticed they have something known as the "James Hird Academy". It got me thinking.

Next year, it's a case of getting the 12 drug cheats back on their list, plus a couple of priority picks which they don't deserve. Watson never had to return his ill-gotten Brownlow. It will be like business as usual at Essendon, pretending that nothing has happened. Essendon's arrogance knows no limits, they are unlike other clubs. They're the Muslims of the AFL in that they believe they are right and anyone who doesn't do things the Essendon way are infidels.

I'm going to make a prediction right now. This club is so stupid, so misguided, that they will do this again, once again believing they won't get caught, and even if they do, they will be exonerated. When you have fools running the club who refuse to learn by their mistakes, they are destined to repeat them.

Good post. You're right, Harvey is nowhere near the same league as Tucky and KB. Would imagine as far as actual minutes played,
Tucky would be many many games worth ahead so for real longevity the Friar still wins out.

The other thing about Tucky is he played a lot of games in the Reserves, I think around 50 or so before making it into the Hawthorn senior team.

I had a thought at the start of the season, that maybe North would suffer on the field by gifting him games, but from the few I have seen he is usually among their best. Muslims should only be offended by Adelaidehawks comments because he compared them to Essendon supporters.
Saying that they consider themselves to be right and others to be wrong is simply stating they have conviction in their beliefs.
Saying Muslims consider others infidels has no negative connotations either as the term infidel can be applied to anyone with a differing faith to ones self, a devout Christian would consider a Jew or Hindu to be an infidel for instance.
Dont get offended on other peoples belhalf folks, its patronising.
HOWEVER as we are all here to worship the Mighty Fighting Hawks, bringing up any religion in any context whatsoever might not be the best idea.

Michael Tuck was on SEN last week, quite the funny fella.
Anyway, I was not aware until then that he was runner up in our B&F 7 times. Not sure if these were all to Leigh Matthews but quite a record in such a powerful era.
Another thing that came out of it was that he too hardly spoke to Leigh Matthews, no hatred or I'll perceived agenda, just weren't the personalities that gelled.

And by the way, totally agree with your post, unfortunately nothing is going to stop this almighty record being broken.

It's the context of the comparison that was negative. I realise that strictly speaking the Islamic faith requires Muslims to believe in one God only and anyone who doesn't is an infidel. But strictly speaking even Christianity is like that too - just like you said - so why not use Christianity in that example? Or better yet not bring in any specific religion at all. There is a majority of modern and reasonable Muslims in Australia who just wish to peacefully practice their faith and aren't going to start a holy war because you don't follow their faith.

I'm not being "offended on their behalves" I am simply speaking up as a frequent user of this board on something that I'm sure AH didn't mean any malice by, but I am sure would have made any Muslim supporters on here feel quite let down by seeing. This board should be an inclusive place where the only thing that matters is that you're a Hawthorn supporter. Not what colour your skin is, your sexual orientation, gender identity or religion.

Why? To what ends are you hoping? You'll look petty and achieve nothing for doing so. It's a games played record, well done to Harvey for his endurance, good for him. Tucky's legacy speaks all for itself, others achievements are inconsequential to what he did.

Thai, don't worry about him, he's in the same bracket as Betts and Milne - little or no impact when we play them.

It's pretty disappointing how dismissive we are being of another player achieving a magnificent milestone - like him or dislike him and regardless of the club or the circumstances he has achieved this record in, it is something that very few will ever be able to do and it deserves the recognition. I would hate to think that supporters of other clubs would be this dismissive and rude if it was a player from our own club - it's not as though he isn't still playing good football.

He won a B+F when they finished top 3, To completely dismiss him and say crap like "Oh he didnt play with anyone good!" is absoutly petty. We dont dismiss Crawfords 2003 B+F because he played with a bunch of shit team mates.

He won B+F's against Shannon Grant, Adam Simpson, Anthony Stevens. Which is nothing to snub your nose against.
