This was my exact thought when I heard the news this morning. The afl will be trying to recoup their outlay rather than as previously was the case in the clubs having to pay the difference

I would expect the club to fight that hard. I can live with a predominantly white clash strip - but if we have home games shift to that campaigner of a stadium then I want us to whine harder than Eddie whining at Caro in a GWS guernsey eating a falafel.

Best fit would mean if we play carlton or essendon it will always be at the MCG, and even the other tennant clubs when they are firing - did we get 80+k v the bulldogs for the semifinal?

lower drawing games not in Tassie will be there. Non vic clubs will complain harder about less MCG exposure

Id expect the club to be on the front foot and negotiate favourable conditions at etihad - our win record there is very very good

Looking a decade ahead, vic v vic games may be always in the 50-80k range and many vic v non vic games in the 30-45k range.

So the crowds smaller than that will get rarer, although id everythings going so well, they may be tempted to bring in another two clubs
