Never done a ‘player review’ at the end of a season?

Nah, but I saw enough of them on the Footy Show/s over the years to make me know that there are better ways to have drunken fun with my mates.

I'm aware I need the full story, so I'll refrain from making any outlandish comments, but unless blackface was involved then that (alleged) bartender is the only one need in need of disciplinary action! (A little tongue in cheek).

OR unless something untoward happened to them specifically, but so far that doesn't appear to be the case.

If it's a private function then let the boys have fun.
You'd hate to sit in on comedians working on jokes or skits if some footy players on Mad Monday bother you...

Has to be blackface.
It could be any number of things that could have been deemed completely unacceptable.

Clearly if the AFL are acting on it they too think that the behaviour is unacceptable, whether there was an audience or not.

From child abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, racism… we’re talking about 20 something year olds under the influence of alcohol with free will… and we don’t know if the person making the complaint had history of being a victim of any of the above acts, so I’m not sure how anyone could be sure that they’d have been well behaved and that it “has to be blackface” that was the problem.

A skit of a player impersonating our celebrated Olympian Raygun is really beyond "inappropriate"! Deserves more than a fine.

About 6 players facing suspension.

Would like to draw GWS in round zero, or whatever it is called.

Watch Geelong play them at GMHBA

Will have to wait until the full story comes out but if this is true the AFL are a joke

"Some players have been hit with hefty fines, even if they weren't involved directly with the skit. Captain Toby Greene is one of these, who has been sanctioned $20k, essentially for not showing adequate leadership in the situation"

I'd hope this is not all he is responsible for because this is stealing 20k if it is true.

It must have been pretty terrible if players are getting hit with 5 figure fines just for not stopping what they were only witnessing themselves.

And that's with it being an out of season, private function too. Compare to Clarkson using homophobic language at a game in public, a $20k fine.

Not strictly stealing.
The fines will be helpful in paying for the afl executives Christmas party

One thing I saw mentioned is that there was a joke about Diddy. Do they realise that every American late night host is doing jokes about that - oh the humanity!

As above. These players are ****ing stupid.

References to a diddy party, blow up dolls, Josh Giddey, Jarrod Hayne…. Sexual assault ain’t funny guys.

Except Josh Giddey didn't sexually assault anyone. Not directed at you SYL - but having seen the online vitriol that has gone Giddey's way when he did absolutely nothing wrong has been troubling to watch.

He was alleged to have slept with a minor though, and I would think that’s the joke that they’ve made.

If we think AFL twitter is bad, NBA twitter is much worse. A 19 year old and a 15 year old who used a fake ID to get into an event is somehow irredeemable paedophilia. If I had a problem with him being part of it, that's why.

What he did was sleep with a girl who lied about her age to get into a nightclub when he was 19 and she was 15. He never did anything further once he’d determined she was underage. GWS players are idiots for making light of it but the press is also moronic for listing his name anywhere near ****ing Diddy’s.

Oh I’ve seen NBA Twitter on this and it’s ****ing deplorable and I feel for Josh and his family. Just another example of how the US is irrevocably cooked.
