Re the Hawks Saints game, I was playing soccer for the ressies 1PM kickoff, finish nearly 3

A Saints fan was playing the firsts, who couldn't wait to tell me the score and we came off and they went on...

I made sure to return the favour at half-time, and then again at full time.

Let me guess, the house is built on land that was owned and subdivided by the Costa Development Group

Nope. Despite the article proclaiming the ‘privacy’ of the home - it was relatively simple to find the address, the name of the previous owner, that they owned the property from 2009 onwards and that they’re a Collingwood supporter. Keep letting the Corio folk live rent free in your head though!

I listened to the sacked podcast with Trent Croad today. A good listen even if it’s with Jon Ralph who naturally made me misunderstand why the word sack was included in the title. It discussed the saints comeback game from 1999 its well worth 2 hours for any avid hawk especially if you haven’t seen it.

Remember this game well, was playing golf at Greens beach. Finished the round went to clubhouse for a couple of thirst quenchers, ABC was broadcasting the game on the clubs radio. Stayed until start of 3rd and started the 90 minute drive home. Put the game on & settled in for a long boring drive, turned out to be one of the best times I can remember being in the car by myself. Not sure what other cars were thinking coming towards me as there was some carry on coming from the drivers seat.

Also 4 bedroom Mansion? where are the other 5 bedrooms? 4 Bedroom is a family home.

100%. Most people in the burbs of Brisbane own 4 bedroom homes and you’d be hard pushed calling them mansions. Nothing like a bit of sensationalism mixed in with a gross invasion of privacy.

The weird thing is to look up titles the press must have access to systems like RPdata to look this shit up. As a general member of the public I can look up a lot of things but land titles aren’t one of them, and for good reason. It’s genuinely nobody’s business where Bailey Smith lives but thanks to the media it’s really ****ing easy to now find out. Something tells me that journo would be seething if I doxxed them on a public scale like he has.

The outrage here isn’t that a highly paid footy player has bought a house easily affordable to them - it’s once again the complete disdain of somebody’s privacy.

Thought Albo had made doxing illegal

He would have every right to be annoyed

Bailey that is, not Albo

Likely a loophole that because they haven't published the address directly that it's not in breach of anything.

Maybe if you bought a long time ago or are rich. Try being 30 and buying a 4 bedroom home in a decent location now I’m about to turn 50 and would have to move about an hour from Melbourne to afford that, noting that a bit of that is I can’t get a 30 year mortgage of course but still it’s ludicrous

best mate & I left at HT.. yeah yeah we know
Don't worry mate.

A group of Hawks supporting mates and myself were at the 2013 Prelim against the Cats. We are all pretty flat and quiet at 3/4 time. One of our mates goes missing. Turns out he cracked it and left the G and was on a train home sulking as the rest of us all witnessed one of the greatest and most emotional quarters in Hawks history. His gf who wasn't even a Hawks supporter stayed.

To this day we still give it to him regularly about it and you can tell how much regret he has as we all talk about what a last quarter and post-game celebration that was.
His now wife loves getting stuck into him for it too which is always entertaining.

This I believe is the 2025 draftee training with us. Looks good especially as an underage with composure and clean skills and some nice moments with Cody Anderson.

Train on means nothing BUT... I love the way Greeves gathers the ball like he has a magnet from the ball to his hands. He is a big kid and is neat kick. A lot to like.

Great story Hawkas1988
Poor guy cared too much about the result and not the contest. His GF/Wife cared less and so enjoyed it more.

Won/lose or draw... it is about the contest.

The Lekkas + Holland goals just before half time were huge. Typical Saints and 25 years later nothing has changed 😂

I remember that 1999 game like it was yesterday. I was still living in Adelaide at the time and I remember being so pissed off at half time that I swore I wasn't going to bother rocking up to the following game vs Port at Footy Park. Back then I didn't have Foxtel so the only chance I had to see the Hawks was the rare TV appearance (which thankfully the Saints game was) or when we played in Adelaide, so it was a big deal to forgo seeing them live.

Almost wished I didn't go as while the scoreboard shows we only lost by 20 points against Port the following week, it wouldn't been more had Port been more accurate (8.17 to 6.9).

One of my earliest footy memories.
My step father had taken me with 2 of his work mates. Those 2 were roasting us, telling us to leave early...

They left before 3/4 time

We're talking about a house an hour from Geelong. It's on a big block, but there is nothing Mansion about a 4 bedroom house. And a suburb 1 hour from a capitol is not too far out, but the old Melbourne train network system it's a zone 2. Zone 1 is unaffordable for a 30 year old now even on decent income.
Bailey Smith's house is an beyond Zone 3 beyond V-line.

I'm not rich but I bough my first home (3-bed townhouse) when I was 27 and then last year upgraded to a 4 bed free standing house slightly closer (but still an hour from Melbourne CBD. Nobody would call my house a Mansion.

So yes a 4 bed free standing house close to Melbourne is expensive now, it's still just a 4 bed family house and not a "mansion"

It’s not just the amount of bedrooms in a house that defines a mansion
