Impressive return Ross the boss.

St Kilda’s draw is ridiculously favourable too. They don’t really cop any tough periods until rounds 23 and 24 when they play Geelong and Brisbane. They can pretty much cruise into the top 4 to that point based on current trajectory but then the wheels might come off quickly.

With the worst of covid gone and the requirements around head knocks, the AFL need to increase squad list again.
Agreed.

What were list sizes pre-Covid?

Kind of painful watching Matt Rowell play. Just does not know how to get an uncontested possession. Acts as a battering ram the entire game.
He's awesome, but he's going to be gassed by the time he's 26!

It's insane to see the impact his injuries have had on him.
I'm still hopeful that he can emerge as the player he was originally tracking to become, but it's going to take a fair while imo.

He's too small to be a dominant player in the style that he plays. If he was 190cm playing that way he could be.

Your want for us to finish last is demented. I get it, Harley is a freakishly talented kid - but the percentage of #1 picks with flags isn’t impressive and the last one to win a flag with a side that finished last to secure the #1 pick was Des bloody Headland. I’ll take continuing our close to 60 year streak without a wooden spoon thanks. Cheerleading a spoon is some Carlton-level weakness.
Or if you’ve paid attention to my posting on BF you would know I’m having a bit of fun. 95% of my posts are jokes and it’s a footy forum so I don’t take it at all seriously. That said Had you seen me watch the game today you would know I’m not wanting to lose.

Fair call - just I see a lot of people genuinely keen on tanking for Reid and it rankles me a bit. He would be a nice silver lining to finishing last but I am really hoping it doesn't come to that and from the last two weeks I don't think this group of young blokes deserve it either.

Quite, but is it expected people post a long qualification or just say ‘hello Harley’ when they are thinking the same as you?

If he etched out a similar career to Rory Sloane I think the suns would be happy - I don’t think that’s unachievable for him as he gets further into his career.

Still not sure how Day gets two weeks for a tackle that results in no injury to the head and Duncan bumps which causes concussion and he has no case to answer.

And second to that, was Day's tackle twice as bad that he gets twice the 'standard' punishment of a week.

They said the same of Selwood

Fox ran passed the ball. Duncan couldn't do anything other than protect himself.

Had a conversation with a rabid eagle supporter today. thought he was having a lend but he was really quite down in the dump

He envies where we are at and jealous that we have Sam as our coach. Said that they were experiencing the same “pain” as the hawks atm but unlike us, they were experiencing it with their “old” players still on the list.

Was impressed at how quickly the squad had developed and the improvement each week and that we should be pleased that we could at least see the direction the club were heading

I have no issue with Duncan getting off, seemed like a reasonable action, but Ashman's question remains - How exactly did Day get punished so badly?

They argued that because Close's head hit the ground there was potential to do damage. Day's technique was fine, wrapped him up and dropped to the ground. He didn't sling Close, nor did he dump him or drive him into the ground. Other than Not Tackling, which is completely unreasonable, what could Day have done differently?

Duncan's actions actually did do damage. Incidental or not.

The outcomes seem to have no logic or consistency in any regard. Really, both actions should just be deemed incidental and thrown out.

I agree, and the thing I noticed was not one Cats player in the vicinity saw anything wrong with what Day did, otherwise they would have gesticulated. The only player to react was Dangerfield whose only concern was pulling Day away to allow his teammate to play on. I saw worse over the weekend, but Day got 2. We can never say for sure, but you could argue it could have cost us 2 wins.

Unfortunately Day was the 'first one's where they test the waters, and then adjust the punishment from there. It does feel wrong that a perfect tackle has resulted in a two week suspension

Bullshit. There were plenty of similar tackles in the first 3 rounds. Day copped 2 weeks because he wears the wrong colours.
