Thoughts on Bruhn?

Seems like a good, contested player - Re-visiting the trade scenario last year...

Would he have been another Worpel? Thus, actually having no need for him?
Think he will be a very good solid AFL player . But no need for him for us .
He will need to be better than that to fill the void being left at the Cats though .

AFL should scrap the bounce. Just throw it up, too many recalls, too many one-sided contests.

Maybe the umpires can focus on learning the rules if they are not practicing stuffing up bouncing the ball all day.
Imagine reeves contesting a centre contest without being blocked every second time? Will never happen, the afl would never make a rule change that benefited the hawks

You cannot block in a marking contest (sort of, depends on what side of the bed the umpire got out of, how one disguises it, or the link with the lunar cycle).

Have no idea on when you can or cannot block in a ruck contest!

Most uttered expression for a ruck free kick........."What was that for?"

There is actually a rule that says you can't block in a ruck, but teams without a genuine ruckman have navigated that by running at the opponent and not turning the body ( for some reason it's fine to not go for the pill if you're facing the opponent)
The cats have already mastered it, but it only works if the bounce is off centre

He does alright without being great at the contest. I think Worpel ends up the better player by a decent margin though.

Something Bruhn desperately needs to improve is his fitness. He’s incredibly unfit by AFL standards. Causes him to drift out of games and have to spend a lot of time on the bench.

Nah they really wanted Bowes , just ask Danger ......pick 7 was just steak knives in the deal .

Amazing the difference a year makes.

On Show Me The Money (the agent doco), Bowes manager was selling the idea of coming to us with 'you'll automatically be the number 2 mid behind Jai Newcombe'.

Bowes would be playing for Box Hill if he was on our list right now.

Was a flip of coin job , nearly was coming to us but went to Cats as he felt he had too as he pre committed there .
They have basically drafted , traded in the same midfielder with 3 spots Bruhn, Clark and Bowes

Reporter: Jeremy Cameron's goal in the last quarter that was from outside the boundary, what did you think of that.
Campaignerman: It wasn't outside the boundary.
Reporter: It was clearly outside the boundary.
Campaignerman: It was outside the boundary was it? You have have a different view from others I've talked to who know the game well who say it wasn't outside the boundary.

This is how you win an argument.

This was strange to me, like they’d lost the game and nobody would care if he turned around and just said yeah, that looked OOB.

You didn’t notice 50k pies fans going ballistic at the replay TWICE?? Give it a rest you moron.

because Scott didn't even see the incident. he's a serial whinger.

Probably needed that pick 7 though...
Well, in hindsight, no. It's pretty likely, given how highly we rated Weddle, that we would have chosen him with that pick. Which means that MM wouldn't have needed to do the the deal involving our picks and the Dogs, a trade that's a minor sacrifice with the McCabe father/son pick.

But as it was, everything has turned out for the best.

That boundary umpire should never umpire again. He had one job….
It wasn't the same one for both errors was it? I'm certain that they were two different umpires.
