Some absolutely blatant frees not paid for GwS in last. That matters in a 1 point game. Pies got lucky. If had been other way around would be all over media.

Honestly didn’t see the umpiring favouring Collingwood - GWS got multiple shots at goal gifted to them with free kicks and 50m penalties. Collingwood would have also had a throw in at their end of the ground at a crucial stage only for one of the dumbest deliberate calls I’ve ever seen. Couple of high shots not called both ways also. 12/12 free kick count - the umpiring wasn’t great but I didn’t see it swinging the game to Collingwood.

anyone think the 6 day vs 15 (i think) day break played a bigger part than lead on? Talking a team who played until late saturday night then had to travel home and to melbourne vs a team having a two week break with no travel.

In context, Giants fudged 2 goals in front of goal, whereas Pies don't have those excuses.
Again, the Pies escaped.

What their fans don't realsie is that over half their team is past 30, this, maybe next, is their last year contending.

Maynard was saying after the game they had 3 consecutive 6 day breaks whilst also having to travel, “much respect” (or something along those lines)

Number 3 is the one that really pisses me off at the moment. He literally got de goey to ground.. what else constitutes a completed tackle? Should be like the NRL where if your elbows hit the ground the tackle is considered complete. Happens all the time blokes hitting the deck, getting back up.

I'm trying to think of the GF where Pete Moore played 1st ruck and was a sight to behold. I think it was '79. I think in '81 he was playing full forward and had a meh game. He was always a beautiful ruckman for mine. Became an extra midfielder in his prime, before that phrase was fashionable.

Anyone remember Rene Kink? Would be huge in regular season on do nothing in Grand Finals. Got roles in the odd TV show. I think he was in The Club too. If Big Footy was around in 1980, the Leon Davis
