Pies won a flag on system and grunt. The latter looks diluted after a flag and the former has been studied by every side over the summer. They are in a bit of trouble I reckon. They didn’t win the flag on superior talent (Daicos is a freak though)

Possible that Collingwood just weren't that good. Or at least, they weren't as good as premiership sides usually are - not much from last year to indicate they were a sure thing of backing it up. Lots of close wins, lots of passion. Passion doesn't last forever.

They were that good - last year. That doesn’t change. But you’re right about passion being a key driver. That and system, both of which are harder to hold off challengers than pure talent. I reckon they are in some trouble
