Contact below the knees is certainly a FK.
He’s getting judged harsher than others because of how good he is. He’s got the ability to be up in the top few players if he gets his contested side of his game sorted.Unpopular opinion perhaps incoming, but players certainly have different strengths and weaknesses, and Daicos is certainly in the weaker category for contested or 'hard' footy.
However, it does take all types to make up a footy team. Courage for the sake of it can also result in players convulsing on the field, as we saw last night.
So we can rip of Naicos all we like, but he's playing next week and Mason Wood isn't.
It just looks a lot worse for Nick because the rest of his teammates are playing poorly right now. Those 'weak' moments will always be highlighted when you're losing.
Sure he's judged harsher - but the pile on is getting a bit gross. He’s getting judged harsher than others because of how good he is. He’s got the ability to be up in the top few players if he gets his contested side of his game sorted.
He’s going to be a very good player regardless. It’s just the better you are the more your weaknesses stand out and will be exposed by the opposition as they put more time into you.
Unfortunately these pile ons do tend to ramp up once they start and end up going a lot further than they should.Sure he's judged harsher - but the pile on is getting a bit gross.
There is a difference between being reckless and squibbing a tackle though. Not every player has to be Glenn Archer but if your hardness level is not above Cale Morton then you have issues.Unpopular opinion perhaps incoming, but players certainly have different strengths and weaknesses, and Daicos is certainly in the weaker category for contested or 'hard' footy.

Also worth noting players like Brad Hill and Clinton Young and many many others have copped their share through the years - this is not unique to Daicos.People saying it's unique for daicos to not want contact, it's been in his game since day 1, but what he did well covered it up.
Last night, and vs the hawks last yr, when his good traits were stopped, his bad traits were highlighted.
People say he was strangely fumbly. He's always been fumbly below his knees, but that was masked by his ability to hit the ball at pace when it was put infront of him

He looked all class his draft year, had so much upside to. Him and machietto can change the saints overnightwe had an abundance of hbfs & needed mids at the time... can you imagine the outcry had we picked another hbfer over a elite jnr mid
strained his hamstring, out for 6-8 weeks.Liam Henry looks like a great pick up for the Saints. Has given them spark all night and that was a terrific goal.
I realise with inflation still above target the cost of everything is increasing, but weren’t most hamstring strains worth 2-3 weeks only a couple of years ago?strained his hamstring, out for 6-8 weeks.

Great young player. Bulldozing through the pack is not his go. Id love him at the Hawks and have no doubt he will be a great of the game barring injuries.I love hanging s**t on daicos as much as anyone but was he injured or some thing along those lines?
Exactly, ‘a great young player’, has only turned 21 wait a couple of years until he fully matures before commenting on his hardness. Not to forget he probably still has memories of the Blanck collision and the time he spent on the sidelines because of it.Great young player. Bulldozing through the pack is not his go. Both D boys go really well. Super skilled
Reckon there is in the second one where he shits himself as he is about to get tackled and handballs it to absolutely nobody.I agree, I meant there's not much in either by ways of Naicos shirking anything.
No just soft.I love hanging s**t on daicos as much as anyone but was he injured or some thing along those lines?
I had it when watching the Hawks game last week where it would automatically jump like half a second ahead. Is that similar to what you're getting?Anyone else's Kayo being all jerky and s**t?
