I'm Cat 2 priority for the Grand Final register, so am I guaranteed a ticket? If not, I reckon I'm prepared to go to $2k if we're there.

Would love to go with my Dad (non member, but he'll probably pay a fair bit as well)

Guaranteed a ticket, but not guaranteed a seat!!

You are guaranteed as long as you register on Thursday, as gimp said it could be seated or standing room

Fantastic. As I said, I just hope I can get a ticket for my Dad.

I'll shout him a ticket - after all he's the one whose had to put up with my Dogs related excitement, tears, tantrums, rants and as the years have gone on, my lament and fears we may never see a flag.

So, thank you Dogs, thanks for renewing the hope. Only two Giant steps to go.

Hey guys

So apparently my membership qualifies me for the 3rd tranche of gf tickets.

He club said I need the number off the barcode on my club card. I'm OS and don't have this, do you guys know if this is the same as your membership number?

Thanks

No its different

With the GF tickets I have 6 members in the family - would we be better off putting in two lots of 3 applications rather than all together? Thinking could be more chance of getting seats......

Is there anybody collecting your mail? Should have got a letter in the mail. Get somebody to open the letter, your barcode will be on that.

I don't want to. But being at the grand final alone would be kinda sucky :p, and I suppose there is always the option of paying out my arse from someone selling their tickets.
This is a stressful time.
I'm still reading thruogh all these questions as I have the same ones so forgive me if this has already been answered - it looks like you can register several Barcodes together to get seated (or stood) together with other Social CLub Members

Possibly, could end up with one group getting seats and the other not... can't win it seems.

Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated!

Anyone got any tips on guaranteeing a grand final ticket for a non-member?

I will go down that road if unsuccessful in the member ballot.

Might be worth buying an AFL package now -- literally right now -- and not waiting until Saturday's result to make your move. They're selling quick and will sell even quicker once the Syd/Geel result comes through. 995 is actually market rate when you consider the cost of a membership to qualify you to priority access to register for a 399 guaranteed ticket. And it's a big jump from Cat 6 (995) to Cat 5 (1,600ish) with not much actual difference in seating.

My advice is buy now, and then if the result goes badly, offload the ticket for as close to what you paid as possible. Or if it goes well, go into the member ballot etc and if you get a cheaper ticket, take it and sell the 995. Think of it as insurance.

Either way, don't mess around waiting for a result because there will be one other competing club full of members looking to do the same.

for those of us going into the ballot on thurs, would we find out that day if we're successful? Soesnt seem to confirm that in the paperwork, only that we'd be charged after a successful prelim.

You need to make the decision as to whether you are happy that 3 may get tickets and 3 may not. If they were people that I go to the footy every week it would be all or nothing.

Hey guys
Might be a pretty silly question, but if there is anyone on here with a premiership circle or even EJ social club membership who wouldn't be using it for the grand final if we make it, would you be able to send me a message on here, I have a propersition for you
Cheers Ben

You won't find out officially until Monday but you'll know on Sunday if your credit card has been charged.

I have read the info over and over again and my blood is boiling that a social club member could (and most likely will) by the sounds of it end up standing at the GF. How in any way shape or form should every member of Social Clubs coteries etc not get a seat? Corporate greed shits me to tears
I have been to one Grand Final in my lifetime (when I was 11 and mum bought tickets off a scalper in the paper) and all I cared about was catching one of the balloons they used to let go before the game and dreaming that one day it would be the RW&B balloons! Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that A) I would still be waiting to attend another GF 31 years later and B) that we could be in it this year and that to see it, I might have to stand up all day yet someone who pays far less for the season gets a seat.
The wording of the letter basically says - you will be allocated standing room. if you don't choose this option, **** off

I waited 30 years to get my MCC full membership and it came along 3 years ago at the princely sum of $1600 for the first year and close to $700 for every year after that - since we don't play at the G very often and my life stage didn't allow to outlay that kind of money in the hope of a GF ticket, I had to let it go.

So disappointing, even given that I might get a ticket - not sure if standing with a shit view would be preferable to staying home and watching on TV with my 7yo die hard son....

Seriously thinking about doing this, like right now, and registering my membership on thurs and palming that off to somebody if we get through

All social club so tickets guaranteed? If so its a matter of seats v standing room.

I seriously can't see how a social club member can miss out on a seat. The only way that is possible is if the remaining 5000 tickets for non social club members are all standing room tickets.

I think the standing room question is so that if someone is prepared to accept it they will allocate it to them.

I have to register for 8 social club members which includes 2 kids and a 75 who could not possibly stand all day. I will not be choosing standing room. If we do not get seats and 8 non social club members get seats Peter Gordon will have a new legal case and he won't be acting for me.

Somebody was saying yesterday that if you click 'no' to standing room, that you go into the ballot with the rest of 'em, no longer guaranteeing you a ticket.

I'm with you on that, surely the remaining 5000 tickets can't all be standing room can they, yet it says to click on any ticket including standing room to enhance your chances. crazy.

I think that is if you opt out of standing room and by the time it comes around to you in the ballot that the only "best available" are standing room, you miss out with no guarantee of a ticket
