Are you familiar with Karen Rowles? She's a militant anti-public transport crusader who is trying to stop the light rail progressing any further and wants to rip up the existing system. I recently discovered her Facebook page, which is littered with rants in all caps, seemingly against any proposed development project on the southern GC. She takes NIMBYism to a new level. The Bulletin has called her out a few times for misrepresentation of facts.

Currumbin is a possibility too

In the end, the LNP held Currumbin by 310 votes. The southern Gold Coast (Burleigh & Currumbin) has official become an extremely marginal area.
