Kate Roffey is the funniest. Came on board when we were 4-0 and is taking credit for the premiership as if she play a big part in the premiership buildGood. fu** our board members tho, those wannabe heroes campaigners.

Gender equality and diversity are paramount for media coverage these days, having Kate at the Dees, like Peggy at the Tiges before that, can only be a good thing for the club.
Good question. Wasn't 18th Feb the closing date? You'd think we would have heard something by now.Speaking of, anyone know the results of last months election?
Considering the Warner story I would hope the incumbants were kept on. Don't trust the challengers at all with leaks to the paper.
Shut up and be a nobody when the going is good. That's a club presidents role.
Problem is that without guys like Barassi, Flower, Stynes, Lyon, T, Viney, Neitz, Yze, Robertson, Davey, Jones, Jetta making the hard yards and paving the roads, building the infrastructure that she wouldn't be driving a nice Jag and presiding over the oldest club in the land in a nice office, with a fancy lavatory*.
* that's the most important place in the workplace trust me. Never underestimate the importance of a comfy crapper.
Roffey has been on the board since 2013. She’s the second longest serving board member, I imagine she did a fair bit of work to help us out of rock bottom even before she became president.Kate Roffey is the funniest. That’s absolutely the way I would play it.Kate Roffey is the funniest. Came on board when we were 4-0 and is taking credit for the premiership as if she play a big part in the premiership build
She joined the board in October 2013. She can claim plenty of credit. Do your research.Kate Roffey is the funniest. Came on board when we were 4-0 and is taking credit for the premiership as if she play a big part in the premiership build
How so?The drawback is that the cringe factor is amplified by a lot
Ummmm. We wouldn't have done it if we hadn't won a flag. That Demon Spirit thing is embarrassing. Good thing we won a flag last year or we'd never live that promo down.
Serving nine years on the board without a salary doesn't entitle her to a nice office and a speaking slot on a Premiership documentary?Problem is that without guys like Barassi, Flower, Stynes, Lyon, T, Viney, Neitz, Yze, Robertson, Davey, Jones, Jetta making the hard yards and paving the roads, building the infrastructure that she wouldn't be driving a nice Jag and presiding over the oldest club in the land in a nice office, with a fancy lavatory*.

Never heard a bloody thing about Bartlett having to get an unprecedented infrastructure project over the line to "earn his place as President". If I recall, helping to get Roos on board was enough to earn him years of kudos. It's embarrassing how blatant this post is. Is presiding over our first flag in 57 years, one where we had to hub for much of the season and the player's were clearly under mental strain, not "earning her place as President"? If she can get the Gosch's base over the line, she'd be our best President since the 50s.If she can use her contacts to build us a permanent home base at Gosch's she'll have earned her place as President.
Because anyone who isn't a white, middle-aged bloke running a footy club clearly has been put in place for the sake of a quota. I'm genuinely embarrassed reading this thread. Roffey is literally our first Premiership Pres in half a century but speaking on TV is earning her criticism. How so?
Like its just ****ing dumb isn't it? We win a flag, get our Fox Footy puff piece doco, and all this thread is about is why the President shouldn't be on there. Never mind the recently established fact that she's President because the bloke before her wanted to sack the coach, who went on a year later to be our first flag coach since Norm Smith.Tulip coming in swinging
I don’t understand the critics at all. Roffe was always the obvious successor to Bartlett and they would struggle to find anyone who has demonstrated such long term commitment and passion for the role. Or anyone better qualified given her professional background. She doesn’t need a cheap Jaguar - she would have already earned salary from her professional roles that would pretty much outstrip anything I’m likely to earn over a lifetime by at least 100 times. Plus she is extremely well connected which is an obviously valuable component to have in the role, and is very good for the club as is so effective and experienced as a public speaker. She has been used as an expert commentator for media on a whole range of matters, not just sports administration, for as long as I can recall. I find her to be our best president in my lifetime easily.Because anyone who isn't a white, middle-aged bloke running a footy club clearly has been put in place for the sake of a quota.
