I know for a fact that at least two Sydney-based NRL clubs essentially suggested it was good if all of their players got COVID in pre-season - suggestion being, 'don't worry about being too careful out there, you're gonna get it anyway, might as well get it and not miss any matches'. One of those clubs had an 85% postiive rate in Jnauary.

Yes. It’s Richmond’s home game but with the way crowds are going I’d be very surprised if there isn’t seats left.

Definitely. It hasn’t sold out to general public before, though is well attended when a Tigers home game. Plus the tigers aren’t travelling so well this year which might keep a few at home

I hate Carlton but in their defence this is like 2018 for them. We got hyped a shit ton early 2016/2017/2018, by the time 2021 came around everyone just expected the current list to flop yet again.

Things could have been somewhat different for us in 2018 if Lever hadn’t done his ACL. He was starting to gel quite nicely with Oscar. Was the last game of a six game winning streak that it happened, and he basically kicked into AA form in the first of those six games. Obviously him and May were cooked in 2019 also, and it took them all of 2020 to find that chemistry but the inconsistency of the midfielders and the difficulty of the draw let them down.

I wonder if Carlton will now try and trade for an A grade companion for Weitering like we did with the May trade. They won’t have the trade capital if they finish top 4, unless something comes loose like Hogan. Imagine they wouldn’t have given up pick 6 for Cerra if they’d known how Kennedy and Hewett were going to come on. They don’t defend yet as a team like we do either. It’s a question of how long Cripps can maintain this renaissance. He’s still only 27, but they need to make the most of it while he still has the ability to rip apart a game on any given day and that requires them to have the capital in the backline.

Love your dad, greedy bastard like me. Winning is nice but it would be great if we could play so exciting footy while doing it rather than grinding out 2 to 4 goal wins.

I have a feeling a belting is coming on ANZAC Eve. Only nerves prevented it from happening last year, we really should have ****ed Richmond up. But I think we’ll be up for the occasion this year and it will click for four quarters. They look horrendous on all lines, and I don’t think Prestia will be at full fitness even if he does play by then so we should annihilate them in the middle and exploit that backline big time.

Hard to get decent commentary on us at the moment. Just banking boring wins. Nothing sexy about the premiers beating teams by 3 goals.

I preferred this time last year when we were the worst unbeaten side of the AFL era.

We went through that period in 2018 when we spanked a few sides and we were the greatest thing ever, then we know how that season ended. I’ll take boring and consistent with a flag than spankings with none.

Spoke to my dad the other day as hd pulled out from going to the game on Friday. He complained that we don't pump anyone anymore, then said except in finals when you want to. Then mention the Brisbane vs North game and said when Melbourne play North we'll scrape a 3 goal win over them. It's as if we didn't just win the premiership last year. I suppose 57 years of misery you want to pump everyone by 100.

My dad swore he would never complain about a game of footy again after the flag. Three rounds in and he’s actually gotten worse. We win games and instead of being happy he says “but we SHOULD be doing BETTER”

We got to see about 45 straight minutes of perfect football to win a flag. We have been completely spoiled now. I kind of feel like I need to go back and rewatch some of the wins we had under Roos that I remember being incredible just to ground myself again. I have such fond memories of our wins in 2014 like the comeback vs Essendon, the Hafey match and Adelaide at AO. They would be probably be absolutely terrible to watch in retrospect.
