"who cares about the Brownlow," he says while running a Brownlow predictor.
I do the predictor to put money on it. Not because I rate it as a medal. I mean, we only have to look at Ollie Wines. Equals the all-time votes record. This year, he is not even a top 40 player in the league. no chance of AA and will be lucky to make the AA squad.

huh? what don't you understand about what I wrote. It's pretty basic to comprehend?
How in anyway you think something someone did last season must be equally repeated the next to be validated.

In saying that you're able to repeat these nonsensical posts day after day so I can see why you'd expect it.

"Former Melbourne and Collingwood defender Lynden Dunn will need surgery on a broken jaw after copping a sickening punch from an opponent in a local footy match"

Not that i condone it, but that's a lot of jaw to break

I don't want to laugh, but you're right.

Anyway, does it feel like these sort of incidents are happening more in country footy? Not compared to say the 80s, but I mean in recent year or 2. Seems there's a lot of these thug acts

Probably just more and more cameras these days. I'd doubt it's happening more considering people were actually told to do it back in the day.

Yeah good point that. Definitely seems there's more "footage". Instead of just stories.

Remember years ago hearing about Nigel Fiegert (ex Port) playing at Lucindale and being on the end of a good hiding over in the SA league. Started something he couldn't finish. Could be a good thread 🤣

From my experience local footy is much more cleaner, though not country football there's some teams in some 'rougher' areas that aren't dirty anymore. I would imagine with most games now being streamed there's going to be less dirty incidents.

I remember in me under 18s days back at Tarwin we were still being told to drive blokes heads into the ground in tackles, punch the arms as hard as you can and one of our blokes broke the jaw of a tagger who was niggling him and our coach put him infront of us at half time asking why the rest of us weren't as committed as him.

Reckon we had a bloke sent off every week for striking one season.

Haha that's ****ing excellent. Definitely remember being told punch the arms/hands when spoiling etc.

Remember the old blokes telling us back then footy has gone soft. Let's say 15-20 years ago. No wonder they felt that way. Now you need a safe space after getting tackled.

Still remember my first senior game, back in the days where if you were selected on the bench you sat there for 80% of the game, and our coach pulled our ruckman off just to tell him he needed to go and belt a bloke who'd clipped one of our players. Our ruckman goes back on runs a beeline to his target and obliges.

Bit of a wake up call to a young fella watching on what local senior footy was about back in the day.

I played seniors when I was still eligible to play juniors, kicked 3 goals on my opponent in the first quarter in my second game. My opponent asked me how old I was and I told him 17, he then said if I kick another one on him hes going to belt me for making him look like a goose. :tearsofjoy:

Haha of topic now but I won the coaches award in me first season at Tarwin, had a big off-season on the Billy's and was so unfit when we came back I threw up in the centre square and got dragged before the first bounce of the season. Surprisingly didn't go back to back

Kick a few, did ya?

I wasn't terrified or anything, just general flow of the game, was playing half forward flank so its not like I was a KPF or anything.

His teammates were the ones giving him more shit than my own, "youre getting destroyed by a kid you useless prick" etc... good banter. Everyone was having a good laugh except him.

Used to play with a guy who was pretty much the Gary Ablett senior of country football, just a natural at everything without ever training hard, gun cricketer, freak footballer, he kicked 21.7 in a game once, what a show it was. Could have been anything if he tried and didnt enjoy partying every weekend.
