Heads up
FIA WTCC races from Macau on in 30 mins on EUROSPORT

Races ???
You mean 1 lap,red flag for 30 minutes,another lap,another red flag.
I flicked over 3 times during qualifying on friday night and every time it was a red flag for a different crash.Shit track for racing.

Dont mind a twilight race but please dammit leave the 250km races alone. Crap concert lineup this year too, will have to win tickets again as im not keen on paying for 4 days !!!

Didn't see race 1 but saw race 2 and what I said would happen happened - massive pile-up just past turn 1,red flag,re-start and a couple of laps later a car runs up the rear of Tom Chiltons slowing car and then some nuffies who must've gone to the Ray Charles Driving School crash into them while saftety workers were on the track.

To many Paul the bonehead driving in WTCC

Somehting I didn't say in the photos thread. But two cars had suffered blown tyres during the Victorian TT. So, along with all the other problems, I now think it's unfair to blame Bridgestone for what happened at the Motogp. There must have been an agreement by the circuit's admin, to make it a priority to get lap records lower, since some had been around for a while. It must've been a PR thing. As it's turned out, I can't say this was a sensible decision, it's caused too much trouble for too many competitors at all levels of motorsport.

Two blowouts is a bit different to an entire field of bikes not being able to get 10 laps out of their tires. Whilst the new surface of the track is obviously aggressive and caught many unawares, big series like MotoGP should have done some homework and tested there beforehand.

I was thinking of writing this on the Schumacher thread, but I thought maybe not. That Coulthard article was a pile of ****. The two bits of that article that pissed me off the most was...

With hindsight I know now that I was never on the seven-time world champion's level but he gave my career as a Formula One driver credibility
No he didn't. You had a few good seasons (You should, since you were in it for so long), and you had you/re moments of superiority (You should, since you drove many good cars for long enough), and I do recall early on you often had potential wins denied by mechanical problems. But overall, you were...barely above average?

For years Michael was the perfect pantomime villain,
Pantomime villain? What a ****** you are.

particularly in this country; German, of course, ruthlessly efficient, ultra-aggressive. Whereas previous greats such as Sir Jackie Stewart or Juan Manuel Fangio left the door open to their rivals when racing, for fear of making what could easily have been fatal contact
How the **** would you know what JMF did when there isn't any serious footage of his races. As far as JS is concerned? Well he won, what was by reputation, one of that most fiercely contested GP in F1 history (69 British GP). You think it was just that one time he raced hard? Imagine diminishing the seriousness of racing, at the time, by mentioning that some drivers would leave the door open because, there may be a chance you could get into a fatal accident. It's actually a sign of a good driver...You know?...Someone who doesn't cause accidents, and get involved in them unnecessarily.

Michael went all out in his pursuit of victory
He went all out because there was no/little consequence, he got away with it. Had F1 been just as dangerous as it was during the 50/60s, we wouldn't be worrying about his condition after a skiing accident, he'd have already been dead. His career is a reflection a the overall deteriorating standard of F1 as the supposed highest level of driving.

Not really news but i got the DICK JOHNSON book for christmas.
Some of you older lot would remember the Fatal Mike Burgmann crash at Bathurst in 1986 ( which led to the creation of CALTEX CHASE )

I always thought His front wheels lifted at the 2nd hump on conrod and as he corrected the tyres landed pointed off-centre and he spun into the bridge.
Dicky was ahead and saw it all in his mirror
Turns out Burgmann was side-by-side with Garry Willmingtons jaguar and they touched going over the hump.......

EDIT - it's mentioned on his wiki page so not really a revelation

Testing ahead of the Rolex 24 is underway. Very excited for this race and the season, with Grand-Am and ALMS having merged. Should be a huge year!!
