1967 in 2012.

The winter of love.

:D

Oh dear, I had never actually seen it before now. What the flying feck was that?

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE w***er. He seriously reached Harry O'Brien levels there. Knob jockey of the highest order. That clip alone will stop me watching Channel 7 on Saturdays for the rest of the year. (The Foxtel management must do cartwheels when they see that shit)

Re: Channel 7 Coverage, is it the worst ever???

I watched the DVD of the 1987 grand Final a couple of weeks ago. The coverage was better then than what we get now.

Now there's a graph I think they should show as part of their new interactive coverage!!

What REALLY annoys me is this years mega wall!! It's only 4 squares...last year it was 8!! How can they decease the size of it and still call it MEGA?! A national disgrace.

No!

Megawall should have, like, 70 little screens that fake you into having some form of viewer choice.

And the MEGAWALL graphic shoul be so much huger. It should basically make the screens on there unwatchable.

Oh wait

Re: Channel 7 Coverage, is it the worst ever???

^^ so you didnt watch the 7 coverage two weekends ago Roos v Swans?

In fact I did watch that game from start to finish.
I had no issues with the camera angles or commentary except Kirk.

To simply say worst ever is a joke...it is fine.

I don't love their coverage they have some horrible talent namely Kirk and "Hammer".

But doesn't Fox have rubbish too? Jackovich, Shaw, Pickering are all jokes even Roos is ordinary.

For sure they can improve but by golly they are no way near as bad as your making out.

Rohan Connoly would have had that article archived for when he couldn't be bothered.

Re: Channel 7 Coverage, is it the worst ever???

If i buy a HD tv then i want to see my sport in HD. Channel 7's picture of the game is pathetic, the picture is almost blurry for me. Fox footy is fantastic to watch cause the picture is soo clear.

Also this new TV agreement is shithouse because if you don't have Foxtel then some weeks you don't get a saturday afternoon game like the weekend that just went cause of the Anzac day.

Now seriously can anybody explain what the hell he said? Surely that didn't go to air? There's something seriously wrong with Brett Kirk and like Costanza he can't just have one person looking at him he needs a team of doctors to monitor him because he is sick.

Now into channel 7. What makes them think we want to watch a slow motion replay while the game is going on? When channel 7 got the rights and shared it with 10 however many years ago I thought it couldn't get any worse than this. Well they've outdone themselves this year. The camera work is terrible, Bruce has just simply lost the plot and I'm not even going to get started on the Saturday afternoon team.

Has the world gone mad?

Re: Channel 7 Coverage, is it the worst ever???

Seven need to lift their game.

ATM they seem to be all over the place and need to get back to basics -just show the footy and piss off all the fluff!

Re: Channel 7 Coverage, is it the worst ever???

The most annoying thing I find about Kirk is when he goes I to the crowd an interviews the mums and dads!

Like WTF

The game is being played and we have a mic in front of parents being asked obvious questions "are you proud of your son today?"

Re: Channel 7 Coverage, is it the worst ever???

I steadfastly refuse to listen to Bwucey and Den Den ... two blokes past their prime and holding back other people from getting a chance to call matches. Watson is diabolical on radio and TV.

If seven are broadcasting the game then I watch it on Foxtel with the ABC radio commentary (a quality broadcast) and if there's a delay between sound and picture I don't care because at least I don't put up with some of the worst commentary footy fans have ever had to put up with (since Rex Hunt).

Re: Channel 7 Coverage, is it the worst ever???

Just had a listen to BT on 3AW last night.

He's a big baby, sooking over the article. Taking cheapies at RC, then some bloke rang in to say how poorly researched Leigh Matthews is and contrasted it with NFL ie. how they know players back to front and BT had a meltdown.

He's clearly turned into a massive ego monster, speaks volumes of the massive doucheclub that exists at Seven.

What did BT and Deeeeerwayne say on 3AW last night?

BT had a massive sook, disputed most of it, said they're making changes though. Took a few cheapshots at Connelly, said the Kirk attack was unfair and why didn't he criticise someone else .

Then claimed RC was writing from a 'footyhead' perspective which is different from what Bob and Betty from the suburbs want.

A caller rang in to have a crack at the lack of knowledge or prep on players and cited Leigh Matthews, then contrasted with with the high levels of knowledge callers would have in the NFL. On this BT had a meltdown saying people can't watch all the games and know everything - ain't that your job?

Basically carried on like a big baby.

Deerwayne gave mostly support only mentioning HD, then played the devil's advocate for the rest of the time. Obviously they're all a big club of back slappers and excuse makers.

I just listened to some of that as well.
Notice how BT followed the party line - HD too expensive, have to appeal to non footy followers blah blah blah

Obviously someone who doesn't follow footy is running the show down there and it won't get any better until they change producers.

Re: Channel 7 Coverage, is it the worst ever???

Rohan went a bit easy on Bruce and Dennis . . . these two spend more time talking about each other than the game . . . they also joke or comment that they have somehow influenced the result of a passage of play just by their commentary. They do this all the time and are never called on it.

Concur with dmc333, I heard it. He was taken aback at the suggestion that callers should watch more games and be more knowledgeable. His comeback was that viewers shouldn't expect callers (and he used Leigh Matthews as an example) to go to more games, that would be ridiculous! But that wasn't what was suggested.

Who the **** does Brian Taylor thinks watches the footy? Us footyheads are their core market one would think. Bob and Betty in the suburbs watch Australia's Funniest Home Videos to be entertained by over paid muppets doing stupid voices and making shit up as they go along.

Call the ****ing game you ****ing pinhead.

Yeah exactly. They seem to think they should be putting on a variety show or something in the commentary box, but why would Bob and Betty from the 'burbs be interested in shoddy direction/camera work, stupid in jokes, lack of knowledge (and joking about it) and pumping everyone's tyres in the commentary team.

From what I've seen, most casual observers are even more quickly turned off by this nonsense, because they won't suffer it for the sake of watching the game.
