Dont know about Backmen in the Draft.

Any thoughts u might have will be good i like to see what people think im sorry if these seem silly to u.

i dont understand people. getting bulk traded players is not the way. keep drafting and it will pay dividends.

agreed, look at all the succesful teams, most of them did it through drafting, you can't trade for players and get success, that was tried a few years ago and we all no how that turned out, but i would like one of Polak or Perry as long as we can still get some good kids in, and according to bee dee, Polaks on his way, heard him on the phone in canberra:D

all the succesful teams have done it through drafting but they have also traded for the right mix. Chick, Armstrong, Hall, Richards, Jolly, Davis, do i go on? ;)

Everitts brother isnt a ruckman.

And i thought Perry was a key backmen?

I can only really see us chasing younger key position players eg.

Perry
Miller
Polak
???

Im not sure if we will even chase them..though its been said we have offered Perry a contract.

With this list if it eventuated methinks you have no draft picks.

Simply wont happen either way.

Cheers

hopefully we will chase perry and polak and get one or both of them. birss might be an option he will come cheaply. i wouldnt expect us to do too much more than that. our main priority should be to shore up our key defensive stocks. mids are easier to aquire in the draft and dont take as long to develop.

Most important NO 1 strategy we undertake

Is to take the best KPP defender available when we have our first pick.

Secondly, Jay Schulz has a injury free year at Full Forward, he has the ability just needs to convert

Thirdly, get full seasons into all our kids, Polo,Tambling,Lids,Hartigan,Hughes,Pattsion ect..

Fourthly, release Patrick Bowden to a wing, to play an Andrew Embley type role. He has the ability to do it

Fifth we need midfilders to ease the strain on cogz tuck and johnson. Maybe Daniel Harris might be worth looking at

You would rather the 6th best KPP in the draft for the sake of drafting tall instead of the 2nd best midfielder? Dispite us getting smashed in the midfeild many times this year and resulting in 100 point loses?

Secondly, Jay Schulz has a injury free year at Full Forward, he has the ability just needs to convert

Sadly there is little we can do in making Schultz play 22 games.

I comes mostly down to luck if he gets hurt of not.

Thirdly, get full seasons into all our kids, Polo,Tambling,Lids,Hartigan,Hughes,Pattsion ect..

With Stafford, Chaffey, Kellaway etc. moving on their should be more games into them.

However, with the like of Tivendale getting another contract and the like of Hall, Humm, Knobel retained not as many 'full seasons' as we would like.

Fourthly, release Patrick Bowden to a wing, to play an Andrew Embley type role. He has the ability to do it

Paddy Bowden has been outstanding at times as a 3rd tall defenders rebounding. No reason to not leave him there.

Fifth we need midfilders to ease the strain on cogz tuck and johnson. Maybe Daniel Harris might be worth looking at

And yet you want to draft a Reiwoldt, B-Grade KPP @ 8 instead of a Proud or Selwood

Nearly a quarter of the Swans grand final team were originally from other clubs. Hall, Bolton, Davis, Jolly, Richards. They gave up top 20 picks for all bar Bolton, who they got in the PSD.

Agree 100% Bents! :thumbsu: Maybe make a call on a KPP instead of mid at pick 26. Hopefully Nathan Brown might slip?

There should be a few good player left when our 2nd pick comes along.

If we go Proud or Selwood with 8, you'd hope we snatch either another decent midfeild or 2nd string KPP McKenzie, Reid, Mourish perhaps.

you take the best available with your first pick. if you dont you end up with fiora instead of pavlich.

Spot on Darth. I wish you'd get your old Avatar back. I might have to start a petition.
