Had a health scare myself a few years ago at 40.
Saw a dietary counsellor.
Some basic rules in terms of diet:
1. No fast food anymore.
2. No fizzy drinks, leads to gum disease, the same bacteria as heart disease.
3. In terms of meat, just shaved ham in a pasta sauce or sandwich.
4. No grog.
5. Mainstay is yoghurt.
6. Multi grain bread, of course.
