No surprise here, I think only Freo or Sydney has the cattle and expereince to go close to troubling Hawks this year and even then it would be a stretch. Fair play to WC, they had a good run of form at the right time, good draw and played Subi well enough to get to a GF. Huge gulf in class in the end.

Looking at the stats and a few of their mids ended up with 20+ disposals. FMD they were invisible.
but that's Freo supporters. We are far more humble. I think Fyfe reflected this in his Brownlow speech. As much as I hate my neighbours and inlaws for the shit they have given us, I still don't have the motivation to pay them back.

we were invited to a barbecue but chose not to go (was going to be a lot of WCE supporters there). Host of the party said it was "very sombre". I chose to watch it with my boys and you lot - the atmosphere here was jubilant!

We made a GF which is a fantastic effort in itself but on the day we couldn't execute which is massively disappointing but we got beaten fair and square by a better team
Last time we got belted by a great Hawthorn team we won 2 of the next 3 so I'll try and console myself with that
This season has been a great ride. Today's result doesn't change that

The failure to turn up today certainly changes how you feel about the season though. And having to hark back to the state sides record to console yourself must feel very hollow. More than 20 years ago now!
