You don't rate Smith, Holmes and Knevitt?Whoever we end up drafting I think we need a tall big bodied mid. Hotton looks to be yet another in the Bruhn, Clark, Aitkins mold. No mid under 187 cms

Yep hit outs as a stat are completely useless without the context of hitouts to advantage or disadvantage etcHitouts are in general a useless thing anyway
I rate them all especially Holmes but they are not inside mids and I think we need a big bull inside mid.You don't rate Smith, Holmes and Knevitt?
Clayton Oliver, anywhere near his top, would be an ideal addition as an inside bull. Danger is becoming injury prone and is understandably on the decline. Bruhn improvement this year would not surprise.I rate them all especially Holmes but they are not inside mids and I think we need a big bull inside mid.

Geelong has signed exciting young Irish talent Cillian Burke as a Category B rookie ahead of the 2025 AFL season.
Recruited out of Kerry, the same Gaelic club as fellow Irishman and Cats midfielder Mark O’Connor, Burke has impressed back home with his athleticism, speed and ball skills.
Viewed by many as one of the Gaelic Athletic Association’s most promising and a highly touted youngsters, at 21 years of age, Burke will arrive in Australia in late November and join the Cats for the beginning of the 2025 pre-season.
Burke is set to be the seventh Irish-born player at Geelong in 2025, joining Oisin Mullin and Mark O’Connor on the AFL list, with Kate Kenny, Aishling Moloney, Rachel Kearns and Anna-Rose Kennedy all playing a key role in Geelong’s 2024 AFLW season.
“Cillian is a very athletic and a talented prospect, we are thrilled he has decided to join Geelong and can’t wait to welcome him to Australia next month,” Geelong General Manager – Football Andrew Mackiesaid.PLAYERCARDSTARTAndrew Mackie

“A very established GGA player, we understand Cillian has made a big life decision to move to Australia. We will support him and have a plan in place to make a smooth transition to the Cats and our football program.”
It has zero cap effect, it just lets a club draft an extra player in the national draft. This whole process to me is becoming a bit of an eye sore and a negative impact on the culture of AFL.
The amount of teams that are now just delisting players and saying they will redraft them as rookies is ridiculous.
For me if you are delisted from a senior list it should be that that team cannot draft you as a rookie as clubs are treating list spots as a joke and as a way to reduce salary cap etc.
Burke, there's your flanker recruited this off-season... I suspect he is more a Forward, but I think he will be a Winger or Back Flanker, history suggests the Irish guys usually transition to the backline easier it seems...Good to see Stanley, Duncan and Dangerfield resign.
Also Cillian Burke has signed on! Woooooooooooooooooooooooo!

To me it just shows poor list management. The AFL needs to either stop it or rename the rookie list as rookie list to me means players that haven't been in the AFL systemIt has zero cap effect, it just lets a club draft an extra player in the national draft.
The cost is that it risks a different team stealing your player, and if they were contracted you end up paying the difference between the base wage and their salary for them to play for a different team.

Would we look at Shanahan?

Club would be hoping Knevitt ends up being one considering they drafted him off playing that role in juniors, I think he'll get there if he adds some more size aswell was very good when given free reign on ball in the twos this year.I rate them all especially Holmes but they are not inside mids and I think we need a big bull inside mid.
Without going into who is on what list we haveFor those keeping track, how many list spots do we currently have open/how many picks can we take in the national draft?
Also do any of our rookies need to be promoted this year?
